In approximately 12 and a half hours, the Iowa caucuses will begin in earnest. Right now, it appears as though Donald Trump is going to do quite well in the Hawkeye State, as he currently leads Ted Cruz by 9 points. 34-25%
Unlike the Democratic caucus, the rules are much simpler for delegates on the Republican side. There are no viability thresholds and the process is much more straightforward. If you get a little more than 3.7% of the statewide vote, you will be walking away with at least 1 delegate.

Well, if it comes to that - and I doubt it - my anti-Trump candidate will be Gary Johnson, I guess.

What will Cruz say if he loses? Will he whine? In fact, will all of the losers whine?
I’ve posted on several threads that the pollsters have to try to be accurate to stay in business so they report the truth close to the election. Prior to that they’re just trying to influence the election.
Cross Party polling means nothing during Primary season.
Many Republicans will not vote for Trump over Clinton, because they are pissed their guy is getting clobbered by Trump.
They real internal in the polls is that 20 % of Democrats say they will crossover to vote for Trump.
If the remainder of the Reagan Democrats come home, we are talking about the

Really. What time zone does this clock live in?
OH NOES....He Plateaued...
He's just pining for the Fjords between the Plateaus.
Very possible. The trajectory for Cruz right now is steep decline, what an awful week for him, lackluster debate performance ("don't ask me any more mean questions, or I'll leave the stage!"). The "no-tithe" dress-down, and then the utterly insane "voter violation" mailer. The polls always run a day or two or three behind actual current opinion, nose pointed down, not looking good.
Rubio's in a position that if he can beat the polls by 4-5% he will finally get some serious attention, and his position fundamentals are good (apart from the grahamnesty no-deal, he's a far more serious conservative than the Donald). In addition, his "persona" to use Trumpian language, is appealing, good looking, young, with a rags-to-riches story, something Americans (used to?) admire.
Well, it’s good to know that at least Cruz’s E-mail-focused people are competent.

Iowa nice: Blizzard won’t start until after caucuses. via
from some place -
“I love the strategy. Here’s the other thing, The absentee ballots from what I hear were dominated by the Trump team. Chuck Laudner was the best hiring Trump made”
“Trump by 8-12”
Everyone, we heard it here first!
BigEd is our personal poll guru ;)
Yes, I said that the first time I ever saw him.
Nope! That was not it!
“Wow! I am so giddy. We are starting to win again and it feels soooooo good. I want victory, after victory after victory. Yuuuuuudddddddddddddgggggggggggggggge!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
LOL, I love your enthusiasm!
I told my scripture study group that I couldn’t go tomorrow night because I have to watch when Iowa is called for Trump!
You know, we’re going to get so sick of winning!
Like the wall but it NEEDS TO BE TALLER!!!
Rubio is said to have made a blunder at the debate - I did not watch it - about “Swedish president.” But, according to articles I read, he was given a pass. If it had been Trump, there would have been thread after thread on FR analyzing it.
I agree. I’ll talk to The Donald. :-)
I agree with Falwell Jr.- Trump is the only electable R.
