Texas Sen. Ted Cruz is defending a campaign mailer that Iowa's secretary of state says misrepresents election law.
The mailer bills itself as a "voting violation" notice and tells the recipient it's been sent due to "low expected voter turnout in your area." It then grades the recipient's voting history and that of several neighbors, citing public records.
Cruz told reporters in Sioux City, Iowa, on Saturday that the mailing is "routine."
He says he won't apologize

Thank God for Donald Trump.
Ted needs gun control-he shot himself in both feet at once with this letter.Receiving such a letter would anger me and likely ensure the person sending it wouldn’t get my vote.
You don’t catch anyhting with vinegar!
Cruz had what appeared to be an official document (public document) that in my opinion was to basically scare and/or threaten voters that their voting record was a matter of public record and Iowa was expecting low turnout. He tried to make voters think the GOVERNMENT/STATE was watching them and their voting record was public INFO.
This is like communists do as they say vote for party types OR.
I agree. Rafael tried to scare the citizens of Iowa. He is a punk.
Havana values.
What I don’t get is the Cruz campaign wanting a higher turnout when everyone has been saying Trump is the one who would supposedly benefit from a higher turnout.
Freegards
This isn’t about Trump. It’s about Cruz’s tendency to have an often feeble-sounding excuse for everything.
Or that he does these off the wall things & then has these peculiar excuses.
It’s like he’s a kid, pushing the boundaries to see how much he can get away with.
It’s kinda insulting. (He thinks we’re stupid. Or doormats.)
Trump's real estate empire is built on flim - flame. He's a good ol' American style snake oil salesman. Put this on your bathroom mirror and repeat every morning.
Those buildings with his name on them - he doesn't own them. The banks on them, and besides they were built with cheap immigrant labor.
[for those whose irony sensors are on the blitz, let me append a /s/ warning.]
I’ve posted this thought earlier. Cruz wants money for his volunteers? Isn’t a paid volunteer an employee. Why can’t Cruz just say he wants money to pay his staff?
Regardless. This is like communists do as they say vote for party types OR. really isn't operable. Communists will stand behind you and watch, and even if the vote doesn't go their way - they change the results.
I like Ted, but I'm voting for Trump in my Primary. I'd be happy to vote for either in the general election. We'll see how things shake out tomorrow and afterwards. :0)
Wrong. This was purposely done to scare some.
Yes, he should have.
I was very surprised when I learned from another poster yesterday that you are a male of the species. I had been certain up until then you were some ditsy, overly emotional young woman. Seriously, you have all the personality traits of a misguided, troubled woman.
Getting ready to leave the house.
How's this for now...
Trump, in 2013, endorsed communist Bill De Blasio for New York City mayor. He supports Obama's opening up to communist Cuba. He loves KGB Putin. He, in his mid-50s, supported gays in the military AND partial birth abortion.

TRUMP [on Larry King Show (2009), referring to the then newly elected communist president]: "Well, I really like him. I think that he's working very hard. He's trying to rebuild our reputation throughout the world. I mean, we really have lost a lot of reputation in the world. The previous administration [GW Bush] was a total disaster, a total catastrophe."
And I'm not saying I agree with everything he's doing. I do agree with what they're doing with the banks. Whether they FUND THEM or NATIONALIZE them, it doesn't matter, but you have to keep the banks going."
Public records....
Actually it is about Trump, because the question is was this a random error or an error of judgment and why did Cruz commit it and Trump didn't. It can tell us a lot about what kind of Presidency they will run.
If Trump is as good a chief executive as he holds himself out to be he controls far less then Cruz does, but he does control the big things, like who are the key people who are making decisions and executing things on his behalf. You worry about what business you are in and what business you are not in.
You fix bugs and stand behind features. Unfortunately, Cruz is telling us that this mailing was a feature, not a bug. What maladroit actions will his administration undertake when he is President? Will he clear out the top of the government and put good people in charge - people he can trust not to embarrass him with the people's power and trust? Does he have no one he can listen to who can tell him how stupid this is and what the ramifications will be.
Yes.... gullible people. Caveat Emptor
