The personalized letters target individual Iowa voters and identifies them as having failed to vote in prior elections. They are admonished and then encouraged to vote this year. In addition the letters identify the neighbors of the voter, and provides their voting history.
The text reads:
"You are receiving this election notice because of low expected voter turnout in your area. Your individual voting history as well as your neighbors' are public record. Their scores are published below, and many of them will see your score as well. CAUCUS ON MONDAY TO IMPROVE YOUR SCORE and please encourage your neighbors to caucus as well. A follow-up notice may be issued following Monday's caucuses".
In an effort to shame the recipient, the notice also informs the targeted voter their neighbors have also been notified of the recipients poor voting record.

Did you not see that Cruz’s campaign manager took ownership of this?
I noticed that. I may live in a small town, but I really do not know my neighbors. Would not want them to have my name and voting record. smh
Well that settles it. Pages of lawyers like him and he has a wife and kid. That's enough for me. SMH
Those endorsers aren't real happy right now, and I don't see what his family has to do with it.
Nobody cares about his family, or Trump's or Huckabee's for that matter.
This is crazy and it smells like a Beck idea. If this is real, Cruz is not only toast, he’s burnt toast.
Finally, they got a round tuit.
LOL
Now that’s what I call hands on.
That looks like it’s pretty close to in over their head.
“:^)
This is sad to watch a mob mentality grow from a knee-jerk reaction to a supposedly Trump,uh sorry cruz mailer-but I can see this mentality every time I listen to trump,so my old tagline needs the added-survived obama/trump holding out for any honest conservative president within the next 30 yrs.
Okay Josh....I guess we will see in a couple of days.
Good on you for that.
We live in a drafty old house and my wife and I usually leave the thermostat somewhere in the mid 60s to save money. We went from two people to five. My sister-in-law was sick for months with some serious medical issues. Our two nieces were used to Southern California winters where their dad was stationed. We had to turn the heat up, plus they were all using a lot of hot water, the lights, appliances and everything else. Of course our power usage went up. It is bazaar to get a "shaming" letter from someone or organization who doesn't have a clue about your situation. If my minister wants to shame me into doing something that is fine. That is his job. Outside of normal campaigning Ted Cruz should mind his own business.
He was doing so well, coming in a strong second. WHY. WHY did someone in his campaign think this was a good idea, and why did Cruz approve of it?
How could anyone ever think that shaming and angering citizens will encourage any voting at all, let alone for the shaming candidate? I don’t want anyone tattling my private business to my neighbors.
They are so invested in their belief that Trump is a fraud who won’t do what he says that they would rather have Hillary as president than take a chance on being proven wrong.
"When you see him across the room at a party you want to walk over and slap him"
Why is the date Feb 1 ?
“Zigarette, Herr Miller?” Cruze poll worker
Ssssssssssssssssssssssss
“He stuck it in my eye!” Citizen Miller, derelict voter
Okay!
It doesnât need justifying....looks like Cruz adopted a Trump tactic so you Trupsters should be celebrating heâs grown some mojos and worthy of admiration.
Caww, did you see the nice formal invitation to caucus including instructions, helpful hints a all the proper paper-work required that was sent out by the Trump campaign? Class too, is a Trump tactic.
I suppose I should be shocked, but, I am not. It is good his ‘conservative’ values are getting exposed.
You’re right, and the Cruz team uses new and complex technology for ‘data mining’ to a fine degree (religion, car, # of kids, mortgage, shoe size, favorite beer - well almost). He relies on it heavily, but as we see, the trouble with computers is GIGO.
It probably will backfire, after all, what kid who gets an “F” ever believes it’s his own fault? No one likes to be called a “FAILURE”.
