Trump is the most gratuitously nasty public figure that this country has seen in living memory. He is the very definition of a bully: at every opportunity to kick someone when he's down, Trump takes it, while shamelessly trumpeting his own dominance. Long after former Texas governor Rick Perry had withdrawn from the primary race, Trump was still sneering at Perry's glasses and intelligence during campaign rallies and gloating about how he had forced Perry's withdrawal. New York governor George Pataki held out longer in the campaign, but he was never a threat to Trump. Yet nearly every Trump stump speech still includes a mean-spirited reference to this nonentity. Trump followers defend his penchant for ceaseless, obsessive attack on the ground that he lashes out only when he has himself been criticized. But there is virtue in proportionality. Trump escalates a conventional campaign sally into the excuse for nonstop, self-aggrandizing war.
Trump is the embodiment of what the Italians call "maleducato"--poorly raised, ill-bred. Indeed, judging by the results, his upbringing seems to have involved no check whatsoever on the crudest male instincts for aggression and humiliation. Trump is unfailingly personal in his attacks. Nor is his comportment merely a refusal to be politically correct. Trump was on solid ground when he responded to Fox News's Megyn Kelly during the first Republican debate that he had no time for political correctness. A repudiation of political correctness means truth-telling, however. Trump's personal sneers are not truth-telling but merely the self-indulgent gestures of someone who makes no effort to control his desire to humiliate.

It would definitely save on bandwidth. Hey, it’s “green”!
Yeah but “New York values” matter, right?

Actually, they aren't really that interested in politics. The business of faux partisanship is just a job to them, one that currently pays the bills. Day in & day out, they have to produce content that keeps the people distracted from what's really occurring in the country. Yet what they are worried about however is possible unemployment if Trump is elected.
The entire facade of the uniparty is severely threatened by this unexpected turn of events. Both sides of the traditional political spectrum had successfully expropriated the basic themes, but elevated the grifting to a high art form.
That's why we're now seeing attacks on aspects such as (the lack of) decorum, politeness, cultural sensitivity, ad nauseum. It's to divert attention from the real game, the 3-card monte being played on stupidus americanus. Trump came out of nowhere to spoil their fun, and they're still furious that the asshole had to spill the beans on their game.
That makes a whole lot of sense.
Amen!
LOL. :-)
He’s apparently got some OCD issues.
The difference is that the ones with dignity and class don't wear them on their sleeves.
“I weep that we have sunk so low that we are willing to put a megalomaniac, narcissistic demagogue into office and then re-elect him and then we are poised to replace him with someone who is just as much a megalomaniac, narcissistic demagogue, if not more.”
I think the times call for a leader, who is willing to fight until his last breath for our country - instead of the polite, girly men we are dished up by the Uniparty
We need a man who can visit rough justice when necessary to put our interests first.
We need a man who is offended by political correctness and political wimps.
We need a Patton.
We need a Grant.
We need a strong person who knows how to walk away from a bad deal.
All great leaders in history have had an over-developed ego.
At this time in history, we need a nationalist - even a moderate nationalist.
And we need someone who will beat the tar out of Hillary until the last vote is cast on November 4th - and who won’t stop the beating until every vote is counted and they declare him the winner by a huge margin - and still won’t stop the beating until she is without a political future and wearing prison orange.
I see only one such person in this race. It isn’t Cruz.
Well said. That's why we're hearing the lamentations of their women and metrosexuals.
We need a little nastiness to settle down the dems.
So has just about everyone connected to the design and engineering fields, where a mistake of less than an inch in the wrong place can make a 92-story tower fall down. I worked in a very precision-required field, and my OCD was an asset.
There could be worse things than washing hands after shaking so many. Howie Mandel won't even shake hands when he is mobbed by fans; he has it so bad he only fist-bumps, lol!
We should prefer secrecy and hypocrisy, then, and have their suppressed foibles "exposed" with glaring headlines when they slip up while in office? No thanks. I'll take the "what you see is what you get" option.
For all sin and fall short of the glory of God.
Wow you go to the Socialist Media to find a supporter? lol
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Wow you go to Trump to tell you how wonderful Trump is?lol
You really wrote that?
"City Journal" is a conservative organization.
But you're evidently a Trump supporter, so how would you know?
Anyone who doesn’t love and worship Donald THE ONE Trump is a socialist or a liberal or hates Americq.
Donald Trump is the most conservative person who ever lived.
Donald Trump is the reincarnation of George Washington.
Donald Trump will save America.
Donald Trump is THE ONE.
If you don’t love Donald THE ONE Trump, you HATE America.
Get with the program.
Get on the Bandwagon.
All kneel before Trump!
It doesn’t make any of them ideal candidates for public office, does it?
There's something to be said for that attitude, though. But if that's how you set your standards, maybe we should just throw it all to sh!t and support Idi Amin as the GOP nominee.
Oh contrare....
We need a Patton? You mean, a commander who was a third generation offspring of a wealthy military family? Although he suffered with dyslexia, he graduated from West Point in 1909. And during WW II, he commanded the Seventh Army in Sicily and later the Third Army in France and Germany and he attained the rank of General (4 stars).
We need a Grant? You mean, the man who even though he achieved fame on the battlefield, was particularly squeamish? Did you know Grant could not stomach the sight of animal blood and Rare steak nauseated him; he insisted that his meat be well done. He never touched fowl. âI could never eat anything that went on two legs,â he explained. He did not hunt, even as a boy in rural southern Ohio where shooting game was a favorite youthful past time. Grant was modest, self-effacing, soft-spoken, and mild-mannered. One biographer, W.E. Woodward, went so far as to suggest that he was bit effeminate. âYoung Grant had a girlâs primness of manner and modesty of conduct,â he wrote. âThere was a broad streak of the feminine in his personality. He was almost half-woman. But this strain was buried in the depths of his soul; it never came to the surface, except indirectly, and he was probably not aware of it himself.â Grant was somewhat prudish. He seldom used foul language. He disliked dirty jokes. And in the field he always bathed alone in a closed tent, never allowing even his aides to glimpse him naked. A serious, well-disciplined soldier, Grant spurned military pomp and pageantry. He was loyal to friends. A superstitious man, he believed it bad luck to retrace oneâs steps. If he inadvertently walked beyond his destination, for example, he would not simply turn around and walk back down the same street, but rather would keep going further away from the place and return via another road.
Because if that’s your definition of what we need, Trump ain’t it, either. That you would think we need a nationalist, at this time in history, shows your very lack of knowing history.
Just because he’s saying things, does not make him realiable to follow through, ESPECIALLY, when the man flips and flops on EVERY issue. We need someone who is bold, yes. We need someone who does not bow to political correctness, but still has the humiliy and the dignity to behave with respect to the position he holds. As well, one who has respect for those he serves. We don’t need a King, we don’t want a King, we need someone to get the government out of our way and be a leader in the terms of being a good influence on society, not someone who insists he is the one to LEAD the government, and screw with anyone who doesn’t agree with how he does it, literally.
For someone who has spent the majority of his life, learning, studying, discussing, debating, literally fighting, for the Constitution and it’s framework, all the way up to the Supreme Court, he may be stiff at times, but he has all the qualities we need, at this time, to get this country back and turned away from a very evil place. Obama and Co. have taken us boldly to the left. We do not need a mush-middle candidate, like Trump. We need a bold candidate, to take us back to the right, like Cruz. And they doubted him to win in TX for Senator, and how’d that turn out?
