Donald Trump again claimed that Sen. Ted Cruz may not be a U.S. citizen, The Guardian reports.
Said Trump: âHeâs an anchor baby. Ted Cruz is an anchor baby in Canada, but Canada doesnât accept anchor babies, they just waited a long time.â
He added: âI think thatâs one of the reasons heâs a nervous wreck. Now theyâre saying, I think, his career is over, right? How about this, heâs a citizen of Canada and heâs a senator from Texas?â

Trump does not need to tell me anything. I was born in Germany, my father was in the military. I have known longer than Cruz has lived, that I am NOT a ‘natural born’ citizen. Naturalized citizen, yes.
It is quite remarkable how few paid attention in school when the Constitution was taught.
Natural born is akin to a birthright...two US citizen parents, born on US soil.
It may be that Ted's claim to Cuban citizenship was extinguished for him, by his parents, if and when his parents chose to claim his US citizenship by having it adjudicated by a Consular office or the State Department, once stateside.
so you’re an achor baby then cause thats what trump is saying
Maybe to the Germansð
Hate trump all you must, but on this he is absolutely correct, and it is a teaching moment. Sadly we suffer the lack of knowledge... Think the liberals are going to let Cruz win? No, they are going to rub ‘original intent’ of the Constitution, up one side and down the other. Prepare yourself.
By the Cruz knows he is not ‘natural born’ and thinks ‘original intent’ does not apply to him.
If you put a period behind natural born you would be right but since one has to read the entire sentence then you are wrong and Cruz is not only eligibe for US president he understands the Constitution much better than you and Trump
So i guess you will stay home and hand the election to another Democrat. They will throw the borders wide open so next election they can out vote us. This is the last chance and i want someone that will close the borders and throw out the invaders. Thats Trump and maybe Cruz. Cruz and Beck were at the border welcoming the invaders with Teddy Bears. A career Politician will say anything they need to to get elected.
Good question. I don’t know much about Canada’s citizenship laws. Of course, I don’t think Cruz or his sister (brother?) were anchor babies. But I knew a woman who was born in France to two Americans and couldn’t get a work permit there, even though she had spent every moment of her entire life there. Not every country has birthright citizenship.
Cruz isn’t making an exemption for himself. That’s your opinion.
No period comes after natural born citizen in Article 2 of the US Constituion. So its clear to me Cruz is more interested in following it than those who like to talk about what they it means

You claim it is my position because you do not know and do not care about “original intent’ of the Constitution.
Do you know what “firstborn” means. Can Congress or a court make a person a firstborn. No, only the parents have the power to produce a firstborn. Only two citizen parents, delivering their child on US soil creates a natural born.
As I’ve read the US Constitution, I think I understand its orginal intent. No period is after natural born citizen. Were the writers wrong in that? I’m reading what is in the Constituion not my opinion of it.
In your opinion Ted Cruz proof US citizenship is a Canadian birth certificate?

Cruz’s US Passport is proof. Cruz has never had a Canadian passport.
Next liberal question...
Never said..he had a Canadian passport...
What document did Ted Cruz provide certifiying he’s a US citizen? Was it always a US passport?
How did Cruz obtain his first US passport?
Ted Cruz proof US citizenship is a “previous US passport”.
Did this passport appear in a Cereal Box? A Box of Cracker Jacks?
Cruz has said he’s always had a US passport.
File a FOI request with the feds if you wanna see it.
