So, to Trump supporters - at least yourself, conservatism is now a crutch?
You and many others have repeatedly asked for citations, references and sources to things that indicate Trump may not be who he says he is. I and others provide those sources and citations and you respond with, “Don’t tell me all that stuff”, which equates to “Don’t confuse me with facts [even if they’re in Trump’s own words], I’ve made up my mind”, as you alluded to in your response.
My point is, positions like “Everybodyâs got to be covered”, “I’m going to take care of everybody”, “The government’s gonna pay for it (health insurance)” - ALL in Trump’s own words, only four months ago are not one iota different than the positions of none other than Obama, Bernie Sanders or Hillary Clinton. Like Obama, Sanders and Clinton, Trump doesn’t recognize that health insurance is NOT health care.
The only person who has proposed a CONSTITUTIONAL and CONSERVATIVE (my “crutches”) alternative to Obamacare is Ted Cruz, as he has articulated in DETAIL for months on end: 1) Remove the barrier to interstate sales of insurance policies; 2) Allow individuals, not companies, to own their insurance policies and take those policies with them when they lose or change jobs; and 3) Allow the free market, not the government, to determine the cost of health insurance.
Do I have any questions about Ted Cruz on any issue? Absolutely! however, Cruz has, with very few exceptions, a consistently conservative record based on constitutional principles. Things like “His wife works for Goldman Sachs” or “He took out a loan with Goldman” don’t mean a damned thing, anymore than Trump’s multiple loans with Goldman and virtually every other large, international investment bank. Eight of the Republican presidential hopefuls, Trump, Cruz, Ben Carson, Jeb Bush, John Kasich, Carly Fiorina, Chris Christie, and Jim Gilmore said in financial disclosures that were filed between June and August of last year that they had owned Goldman funds or Goldman stock, and in some cases both. The disclosures mostly cover the period from the beginning of 2014 to the middle of last year (2015).
What this really boils down to is that you and many other Trump supporters steadfastly refuse delivery of any information that contradicts your view of Donald Trump. I only hope you’re right in your blind dedication and belief.
I watched that interview. When Trump was referring to taking care of everybody, the context was for people who could not afford medical care, as he points out and Pelley acknowledges.
“He still supports eminent domain”
I support eminent domain as well...
“he still supports partial birth abortion”
No he doesn’t. He doesn’t support abortion at all.
And the stuff with his sister is just silly...
They only hear what they want to hear.
So, once again, by stating “I will cover EVERYONE”, he didn’t really mean everyone? Interesting twist of logic; I read the transcript and listened to the entire interview.
He hasn’t stated the details of anything except for immigration reform and I commend him for going to Jeff Sessions for help.
Cite all you want. I don’t really care. We’ll see how you guys feel in March or April.
âI once watched several criminals engage in an organized argument, while an audience of supporters cheered them on, but I was so disgusted that I had to turn off the political debate.â

I can imagine if it’s anything like the NHS.
How are you by the way?
You keep snarling Don. Like all good mannered folk, we will simply ignore your temper-tantrums from now on.
You all don’t get it. The politics of the snark and the “gotcha” posting is over. People want ideas and solutions, not emotion based bile laced tirades.
You are the last one I’d ask for “advice to me and mine.” Frankly, that’s offensive.
I’ve fully explained my beef with the manner of the OP and you just want silly rebut about the undated ‘quotes’ this putz Erick doesn’t bother to back source.
It's quite noticeable that Trump takes no care to get past buzz words and slogans in his verbal communication. And even reporters who manage to get one on one with him, fail to nail him down.
You keep linking to Post 1 instead of what I said. That says a lot about you. We are finished.
p.s. Apologies. I failed to answer your question as to whether or not I’d vote for Trump. My answer is an absolute, unequivocal no. I was willing to vote for him a few months ago, given his position on immigration at the outset, but he has attenuated his position on illegal immigration (including Muslim immigration) since, so I have serious doubts as to whether he still intends to do what he said in August.
On the positions that matter most to me (adherence to constitutional principles and federalism, the size of government, government regulations, the Second Amendment and health insurance), his record is inconsistent at best. Ergo, I have some doubts as to his current position on immigration and a lot of doubts on things that I consider inherently constitutional American positions. So no, I would not and will not vote for him in the primary or general election.
Unfortunately, as with every election thus far, we end up with the government we deserve/elect. God help us...
“I will cover EVERYONE”, he didn’t really mean everyone?”
Context is everything. He was referring to improved health insurance for those who can afford it, and continuation of Medicaid for those who cannot.
NOW if you are running for the presidency, how far do you think YOU would get telling the nation that for those who can afford health care insurance, they will get it cheaper, will have that option, and those who cannot afford it will just have to die.
When a politician gets up and talks like that, and has a limited amount of time, and has to face a barrage of antagonistic questions, he cannot, even Cruz cannot, give a COMPLETE answer that covers every conceivable nuance possible. It just cannot be done.
And that is why vultures, and it has always been that way throughout world history, will seize on parts of what they say and emphasize parts to distort what they mean.
Do you honestly think that ANY politician can unravel and resolve our medical care problems with a three minute sound bite? Trump has to speak in very general terms, and he usually opts for the umbrella term of free enterprise taking care of the problem, like it always has in the United States. Yes, if he referenced Scotland (and I would assume he meant adopting successful aspects of it) so be it, but I have heard him many times referencing the free enterprise option.
Then good. I got an answer and my question wasn’t a gotcha to get you banned. I wanted to know, that’s all.
I can only say that so far, we HAVE gotten the election we deserved, both with W’s creation of the DHS and TSA and total neglect of the economy and election (twice) of Hopey Changey Imam Obama. We even got the election we deserve in 2014 giving Congress historic Republican leads - all to result in them giving Obama exactly what he wanted - every time. That’s worked out real well.
It’s up to you to find reasons you may wish to vote or not vote for a candidate. That’s not my job. I’m not interested in swaying you because I pretty much have a feeling how you’ll only vote.

Well said.
EE is still trying to justify un-inviting Donald Trump, apparently this has become his life mission. Sorry Erick you lost give it up and go away. He can trash republicans all day long, but go find some democrats to bother
So do I; now.
Especially that guy in the mirror.
