So, once again, by stating “I will cover EVERYONE”, he didn’t really mean everyone? Interesting twist of logic; I read the transcript and listened to the entire interview.
It's quite noticeable that Trump takes no care to get past buzz words and slogans in his verbal communication. And even reporters who manage to get one on one with him, fail to nail him down.
“I will cover EVERYONE”, he didn’t really mean everyone?”
Context is everything. He was referring to improved health insurance for those who can afford it, and continuation of Medicaid for those who cannot.
NOW if you are running for the presidency, how far do you think YOU would get telling the nation that for those who can afford health care insurance, they will get it cheaper, will have that option, and those who cannot afford it will just have to die.
When a politician gets up and talks like that, and has a limited amount of time, and has to face a barrage of antagonistic questions, he cannot, even Cruz cannot, give a COMPLETE answer that covers every conceivable nuance possible. It just cannot be done.
And that is why vultures, and it has always been that way throughout world history, will seize on parts of what they say and emphasize parts to distort what they mean.
Do you honestly think that ANY politician can unravel and resolve our medical care problems with a three minute sound bite? Trump has to speak in very general terms, and he usually opts for the umbrella term of free enterprise taking care of the problem, like it always has in the United States. Yes, if he referenced Scotland (and I would assume he meant adopting successful aspects of it) so be it, but I have heard him many times referencing the free enterprise option.
“So, once again, by stating ‘I will cover EVERYONE’, he didn’t really mean everyone? Interesting twist of logic;”
“So, once again...he really didn’t mean everyone?”
I know I shouldn’t ask this, but how on earth do you get that from what Trump said, or what I posted?
Trump said everyone. Having seen the interview myself, I stated that he was including everyone, which included those who can afford health insurance, and those who can’t. Is there a third group of Americans who are not included in that?
