Donald Trump Campaign Manager: Other Candidates Thinking About Skipping Fox Debate
Breitbart ^ | 01/27/16 | Charlie Spiering

Posted on 01/27/2016 9:18:07 AM PST by Enlightened1

Speaking on Good Morning America and Morning Joe this morning, Donald Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski hinted that other candidates were thinking of dropping out of the upcoming Fox News debate after Trump decided to bail.

He asserted that anchor Megyn Kelly was "obsessed" with his boss, which was one reason why Trump decided not to participate.

"Megyn Kelly is totally obsessed with Mr. Trump," Lewandowski said on Good Morning America. "She's done multiple shows on why he shouldn't be even involved in the race on television. She's completely obsessed with him. It's impossible to have a fair and honest debate."

Lewandowski argued that Fox News was trying to use the event to promote its own employees, not the issues that mattered to voters.

"What Fox wants to do is they want to have 24 million people tune in to watch Donald Trump so that their anchors can have the story about them," he said, pointing out that Trump could see it was a "bad deal" to appear at the debate.

Lewandowski previewed a Trump event in Des Moines, saying he would be raising money for wounded veterans, and said in an interview on Morning Joe that other campaigns had phoned them for details of the event.

"I had a number of calls yesterday with some of the other campaigns who said, hey, can we come and join you in raising money for the wounded warriors, for veterans because, you know, if Fox isn't going to be fair to you, what makes you think they're going to be fair to us," he said.

He called Fox executives "very dishonest" for accusing him of threatening Kelly in phone calls, and accused them of favoring other candidates because they had family members working for them.

The beauty of Trump’s strategy is that it sets up Ted Cruz as the guy to beat up on. Whoever is number 3 in Iowa is going to go after Cruz hard. Cruz can’t quit the debate now without making Trump look like a leader. Trump has rolled the dice and thinks that it’s a net positive for him in Iowa to not do this debate.

Want to bet that Drudge will include Trump’s name in his survey on who won?

And that you’ll go there and cast a voter for Trump, as will tens of thousands of other Trump supporters?

And that Trump will win going away?

If Trump does not show there will be so few viewers the rest of them might as well be out doing some last minute campaigning.

So let's get this strait, Trump wakes up in the middle of the night to tweet about Kelly, and we are supposed to think Kelly is obsessed with Trump.

I my world it is clear- Trump has a JONES for Kelly.

Many dedicated television viewers with landlines and government incomes will be avoiding watching the debate.

Cruz couldn’t wait to jump on Trump’s coattails. Again.
Our ‘’consistent constitutional conservative’’ doesn’t know there’s a rule against this?

Or he AGAIN, AS USUAL, thinks the rules don’t apply to him. What’s with this guy thinking the rules- & even the laws, don’t apply to him? He thumbs his nose at them JUST LIKE 0bama.

How conservative! Cruz has NO intention of conserving the rules, conserving the Constitution, or restoring & conserving America.

0BAMA has given Cruz his ‘’precedent’’ & he is going to run with it.

You might be right about much of what you wrote, but I won't go to Drudge or to any other site to vote one way or another.

Fwiw, I'm also not a Trump supporter, just an observer at this point.

Personally, I'm still working on whether or not I'll vote in the general election this time or skip it for the first time.

Had Trump not gotten in the race, I'd have no reason to pay attention as a voter, only as someone who wishes to survive whatever the voters decide.

There’s a nice consistent red line of states in middle-America going North starting with Texas, so I understand your pain as a middle-American.

I also know the contempt in which we are held by those with New York values.

‘that he’s thin-skinned and if he can’t stand up to Megyn Kelly, how can he stand up to world dictators?’

Just the opposite will happen. This will make him seem more powerful to stand up to dictators. It’s not just about Megan, it’s about f-ing the MSM.

This is like Donald’s claim that all the Muslims are calling him up and thank him for his position on temporary halt to Muslims visiting the USA. There are a dozen other examples of these unnamed, mysterious people proving Trump’s claims that he and his campaign have access to.

I’d say 2 hours of Vets speaking from the heart about their delays for care, bureaucratic snafus, and VA executive team building weekends in Vegas should embarass 0bama and launch Trump into the WH

Those not as high in the polls at the moment might find themselves gaining some. Rush this AM is speaking to this issue at the moment - still no endorsement of any; only explaining his understanding of why and how this might be happening. Very interesting assessment IMHO

Trump is being TRUMP and playing by TRUMP rules, ignoring the rules of RNC and media. Why would TRUMP make himself available to those who ridicule and so intensely dislike him? He is not about to self whip his back to please them and cause their pockets to bulge with cash.

If Megyn Kelly is obsessed with Trump because Trump wants her to be obsessed with Trump. Everything he does is designed to keep attention focused on him by everyone, all the time. Admittedly, its a very good media strategy, but Kelly can hardly be faulted by Trump for doing exactly what Trump wants her to do.

"Cruz wins Iowa take it to the bank"

cruz was always supposed to win Iowa.

so, the risk now, with trump skipping the final debate, is all on cruz.

if trump wins, or the iowageans pull another suprise and some second or third tier candidate wins, it will kill cruz's chances.

so low risk for trump, but if he still wins it, it's all over.

“But, dig this: A media organization is really not supposed to act as a house organ for a particular faction of a political party.”

Ding, ding, ding, we have a Winner! Fox, is buck naked on their BS about “fair and balanced.” It’s like Obola saying he would run the most “transparent administration in history.” Just having to say it, assures you that it ISN’T TRUE!

Interesting. Absent Trump, which candidate do you come closest to agreeing with of the following:

Sanders, Cruz, Rubio, Carson, or ?
