BLOOMFIELD, Iowa - James and Brooks Schooley are raising a young family in this tiny Iowa community. They support Ted Cruz and brought their kids to an old church near the Bloomfield town square to hear the candidate, along with Iowa Rep. Steve King and former Texas Gov. Rick Perry.
The Schooleys like Cruz's faith and his fealty to the Constitution. But their choice is also shaped by their wariness of the Republican front-runner, Donald Trump.
"He's not principled," James Schooley told me, referring to Trump. "He just goes by emotion."
"I feel like he doesn't stick to the Constitution the way Ted Cruz would," added Brooks. "Once you go away from that, then where's your standard? I mean, you can do anything."...

BOL! Be quiet!:)
Because Trump doesn’t have to play by the rules. He has already won 6 debates - Fox went over the top with the press release - so why shouldn’t he stick it to them. Trump is living in their heads and will stay there all through the debate. Let Fox bring out the internet Muslim babe to question the remaining candidates.
Trust me, after living as a conservative most of my life in "Sodom-of-the-West", nothing you could say or do could phase me in the slightest.
Yup brilliant- He knew he would lose Iowa now he can blame on FOX.
The whole media world was different in 1980, but you may be to young to remember what things were like 36 years ago. This was before MTV and even CNN. and of course more than a decade before the internet and decades before Facebook and twitter.
Your opinion is more valuable because you are not getting paid by the GOPe DC Hate Trump Cabal to say it.
Byron went from the nice creases all the way up to the zipper and then...
I voted for Nixon.
Ask point blank if they are contributors to FR.
Do not hold your breath waiting for an answer.
>>Why the Trumpets can’t get their brains around this is beyond me.<<
When a conclusion makes no sense, question your assumptions....
Ha!
And WON each and every one! Nothing more to Prove! Time for him to move on to Bernie:-)
“Now he is very good at that, I will admit.”
He’s good at most everything, it’s just that you prefer someone else so you simply choose to overlook the reality of what he’s really doing. Now it comes out (possibly) that some of the other candidates may skip the debate. Trump just lobbed a bomb in Murdoch’s outhouse and it’s raining $hit and boards over at FNC. Every time they say to themselves “he can’t do that,” he does. I will lay you odds Fox has a “war room,” but this debate is going to be their “benghazi!”
I heard— though Rush said yesterday that Trump would never go through with this.... then 5 hours later Trump makes the announcement.
Strange, I haven't seen any concern from Trump supporters that alienating Cruz supporters, Carson supporters, etc. will give Hillary the next 4 years.
Yeah, that’s why virtually everyone today is talking about Donald Trump and virtually nobody is talking about Ted Cruz.
C) He’ll be good and there will be a big audience.
Neither you nor I know the ratings Fox will get.
Well, let's look at what Trump said 4 years ago, when the GOP candidates refused to attend a debate with a biased moderator:
"We're not seeing a lot of courage here, are we? Not lots of courage, these Republicans. They're supposed to be brave."
As long as you were being open-minded and considering Trump you were fine.
Now you’re just another “loser.” Just ask The Donald, or any of his followers.
