Trump Vows a ‘Close,’ ‘Good Relationship’ With Pelosi and Schumer as President
The Blaze ^ | 01/26/2016 | Fred Lucas

Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump used a Tuesday appearance on MSNBC to tout the fact that, as president, he would work with Democratic leaders in Congress to get things done.

He specifically talked about House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and asserted he was "close" to Sen. Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.), who is expected to replace outgoing Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.)

"I've always had a good relationship with Nancy Pelosi. I've never had a problem. Reid will be gone," Trump said on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" Tuesday. He continued:

"I always had a decent relationship with Reid, although lately, obviously, I haven't been dealing with him, so he'll actually use my name as the ultimate -- you know, as the ultimate of the billionaires in terms of, you know, people you don't want. I always had a great relationship with Harry Reid and frankly, if I weren't running for office I would be able to deal with her or Reid or anybody. But I think I'd be able to get along and work very well with Nancy Pelosi and just about everybody."

Do you really believe that? I mean really. Is that what pops into your head and you think “Trump is a genius!”?

Trump is a closet Dim.

Yep. I was trying to think of another person who's political philosophy is the same as Trumps and I came up with Bloomburg. The two were (are) like peas on a pod in NY. Trump was (is) one of the democrat parties favorite donors.
Bloomburg was a democrat until he had to pretend to be a Republican in order to win the Mayors race. After that, he decided to become an Independent to run for Mayor again for a third term.
Trump, like Bloomburg, is what ever party will win at the time and get him what he wants.

AND, Trump has always been a HUGE Hillary fan. I believe Trump is in it to help Hillary. This is a race for Republicans to lose. All he needs now is an excuse to go independent so he can split the vote for a Hillary win. It worked for Bill Clintons reelection when Perot (who got caught having a secret meeting with Clinton in New Mexico during the presidential race) tore the party apart. If it worked to save Bill Clinton from his inevitable loss, it can help Hillary when her chance of winning against a Republican is nill.

Watch for this. Trump will find an excuse to go independent and take his right wing supporters with him so Hillary becomes the next president. Trump is not what he appears to be.

If Sanders wins the democrat nomination, Trump will be tempted to throw the election but his ego won't allow him to look like a looser. He'll take the job, but will be worse than Hillary, because Trump has always been to the left of her.

Your idea of a compelling counter-argument is ... not compelling.

I am angry, but not angry enough to vote for Trump with all the questions about where his loyalty lies.

OK Trumper Freepers. Let’s see you spin this one.

***

Okidoke.

Meh, whatever.

I really don’t give a shit.

For all I care, Trump could govern like an out and out socialist and I wouldn’t care as long as he got the wall built and enforced immigration law. Because if this problem isn’t taken care of, we are absolutely boned in every election after this.

And you know what? He’s the only one who’s shown himself actually willing to follow through on it. In comparison, Cruz has been utterly pathetic on all topics immigration, and pretty much all the others are out and out in favor of more illegals.

So I don’t care. He’s the only one who MIGHT be able to turn this country around in the long run, because if we lose here, we lose on every other topic there is.

If Trump is such a Lib , why is he not running in the Dim primary ?

Are you familiar with Michael Bloomberg's party affiliation and why he ran as a Republican?

Bully pulpit? That is what the Presidency is to you? Wow!

Trump is threatening to overturn the congress-critter apple cart, you really think congress wouldn’t shut trump down immediately?

I ask you this: If someone threatened to do that to you, and you had the means and power to prevent it, wouldn’t you do so?

Yes. Trump isn’t perfect, but he is by far the best politician I’ve seen since Reagan.

And Trump is the only candidate in either party that understands the economy and what needs to happen on trade and jobs.

In fact, we have marines in EVERY COUNTRY where we have an embassy...I’M NOT AN IDIOT...so you’re right. Congratulations.

Please, instead, READ WHAT I WROTE. I referred to OPEN COMBAT, not having a relative handful of troops kicking up some dust in Third World hell-holes.

Absolute nonsense ... Trump’s message on immigration and trade resonates with a lot of Conservative blue collar union Dems ... this will be a crucial factor in the must-win rust belt states ... they have always been more likely to vote Repub when put up a good candidate that cares about this country ... they used to be Reagan Democrats ... I can school you all night long if you want

Donald’s words for Pelosi, Schumer and others reminds me of the time that I was confronted by a rattlesnake. I spoke nice to it and had calm, kind words for it right before I cut its head off with a machete. Judge a person by his actions, not his words.

The first "deal" he makes will be on the wall and immigration. We won't like what he gives away to his good friends Chuck and Nancy.

Trump will make a deal on a touchback legalization amnesty. Pelosi, Schumer, McConnell and Ryan know that.

Trump has also said that he "would think about" a citizenship amnesty.

“It appears to me that he's confident he already has the nomination all but wrapped up, but he knows he needs to attract more votes from the independents and squishies to win the general, so he now wants to show them he's not a hard right-wing ogre.”

The liberals I've known (I've had to deal with them on shared interests) call it “nudging”. It's how they eventually get their way, little by little, piece by piece. Trump will be nudging himself to the left as he feels it becomes necessary. The question is how far will he go before he loses more of his (original) base than he gains with these transitions. I don't think this is going to be pretty. My new tag line, used once, may become obsolete before we know it.

So they won’t do it with BO , but they will do it with Trump ? What does that tell you ? You just confirmed Trump as the true anti-establishment candidate ... sounds like you want someone more like BO , someone they will go along and get along with . You’re done , you lost the debate , nice try .
