Gary Bauer, one of America's leading pro-life and pro-family activists, endorsed Ted Cruz on Friday. In doing so, Bauer became one of many evangelical Christian leaders who have thrown their support behind the senator from Texas. Bauer explained:
"Ted Cruz is a courageous conservative who has built a consistent record on the issues that matter most. He has fought for religious liberty at home and abroad. He believes all of our children should be welcomed into the world and protected by the law. Ted knows that government is too big and that taxes and regulations are too high. He will rebuild our military strength and pursue a foreign policy that repairs our frayed alliances. Ted Cruz understands that Israel is our friend and that Iran is our enemy. He understands that border security is national security. Last, but certainly not least, Ted Cruz is committed to restoring the rule of law and repealing President Obama's outrageous executive orders."
There's a reason why Bauer, James Dobson, Bob Vander Plaats, and a host of other largely Protestant conservative leaders have endorsed Cruz: he's the Biblical choice for president. Cruz's father, Rafael Cruz, explained two years ago what that phrase -- the Biblical choice -- means:
The Bible, Cruz went on to explain, tells you exactly how to vet a politician. He turned to Exodus 18:21 and made his case. Moses is in the wilderness trying to govern the Israelites, where his father-in-law gives him leadership advice: âMoreover you shall select from all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them to be rulers of thousands, ruler of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens.â

Oh...you live "IN" Chicago do you? You aren't a burby, lying about it, are you? South Sider are ya; maybe from Beverly?
LOL...I should have know; you suffer from SECOND CITY ( which Chicago no linger is and hasn't been for at least 50 years! )ENVY and hate NYC!
Yes, similar to how ultra-liberal New York is 92% NON Jewish and the 8% of the population is that is Jewish is hardly representative of New York as a whole -- so criticizing "New York values" is no more "targeting" Jews than bashing "Nevada's casinos & prostitution" is a racist comment and thinly veiled swipe at the 8% of the population that happens to be black. Even Al Sharpton would have a hard time trying to imply an swipe against Nevada was due to the state being 8% black.
In fact, the only way you would could see a criticism of New York values as somehow specifically targeting Jewish people is if you believed in some crazy conspiracy that "the Jews" are the ones who "control" the culture and politics of New York. Ironically, THAT would be anti-Jewish. I sincerely hope you're not one of kool-aid drinkers believing in a secret underground Jewish conspiracy pulls the strings of the New York government.
>> Oh...you live "IN" Chicago do you? You aren't a burby, lying about it, are you? <<
You busted me. I am indeed a suburbanite. Chicago style politics infest the Crook County suburbs as well, by the way. We're gerrymandered into having their politicians "represent" us. If it makes you feel better, Impy lives in the city itself, and he hates Chicago style politics too. You don't know much about the locals here, do you? All Chicago area conservatives hate Chicago style politics, just as conservative New Yorkers hate New York values.
>> you suffer from SECOND CITY ( which Chicago no linger is and hasn't been for at least 50 years! )ENVY and hate NYC! <<
I'm well aware L.A. is number two, though take away its illegal alien population and I'd be surprised if they rank in the top 10. I actually love NYC and would be thrilled to visit the Statue of Liberty, Times Square, Empire State Building, etc. However, like all conservatives, I loathe New York values. If you admire Trump's pal Rudy Giuliani dressing in drag while Trump buries his face in Rudy's fake boobs, knock yourself out. Unfortunately for you, real conservatives won't touch New York values with a 10 foot pole.
Then why are so many coming out in support of Cruz?

Do they really matter?
Have endorsers mattered at all, in recent primaries? No, they haven't.
And frankly, I have never even heard of some of those things.
Is someone from Ted's team passing out "walking around money"? We'll never know, but hey.....ya never know. And NO, Trump doesn't have to do that.
If a person's religion, or whatever was REALLY that important, then WHY wasn't Billy Graham anointed president by acclimation? BECAUSE AMERICA DOESN'T WORK LIKE THAT !
This pathetic article is one man's opinion and that man posted it here to boot, but only exurpted it to get hits on another site.
Let me explain this to you, in very simple terms.....it is IMPOSSIBLE to convince every singe American evangelical to vote for Ted.
There are NOT enough evangelicals in this country to swing any primary, caucus, and/or general election for Cruz; there just aren't enough of them.
Ted Cruz isn’t a liar, but you can keep beating this dead horse-won’t make any difference.
It makes no difference to you simply because you're determined not to believe it. This doesn't make Cruz's record go away though, regardless of how much his dishonest supporters on this website wail and harass people who disagree with them.
“I am an ordained retired Evangelical-Spirit filled pastor with over 42 years ministry experience and I am voting for Trump because I believe he is Godâs man for this four year term. I am sorry Gary Baur is more important than me but my vote counts same as his does. so DEAL WITH IT!
freegards”
I am sure Elmer Gantry would approve of this post!
Yeah, I live in largely Hispanic neighborhood in the city, raised here. I don’t know how NYers feel but I rather regard anyone from the area as a Chicagoan, makes no matter to me if you’re passed the city limits.
I do not feel insulted when people attack “Chicago politics” aka C(r)ook county politics which extend across most of suburbs in Cook.
Only thing I don’t like is when people go on about certain Black politicos like Obama or Jesse Jackson as products of Chicago when they are carpetbagging imports from other places. We have plenty of native scum, but Obama’s are not an indigenous species.
I do not understand why a conservative NYer would be offended by Cruz’s remark about NY values or why anyone would think they had diddly squat to do with criticizing Jews. Such a ridiculous accusation I would expect only from lib morons. Cruz was criticizing GD liberal perversion and idiocy and everyone should damn well be aware of tat.
It’s not as if the state is in play, it’s very heavily rat and anyone who thinks Trump could even come close to carrying it is deluding themselves, he’d do as well as Romney did in MA.
NY values, Hollyweird values, Chicago politics, these are things that deserve criticism and things that are criticized by plenty of decent people that live in those places. Any freeper who says otherwise is just agreeing with Trump for the sake of agreeing with Trump.
Look, the vast majority of Chicagoans I know, do NOT consider BURBIES to be Chicagoans. LOL...you're an outlier. :-)
You don't understand New Yorkers at all, but that's understandable. But even upstaters were and still ARE POed at Ted for his remarks and phony non-apology.
Yes, Humboldt Park. Just north 100% Black Gettoland. Family area, largely Hispanic, some Black, increasingly White, my new neighbors seem like yuppies to me. Gentrifying a little, no major supermarket in the immediate vicinity though, used to be a Jewel when I was a kid, very convenient, now it’s a CVS Pharmacy.
” the vast majority of Chicagoans I know, do NOT consider BURBIES to be Chicagoans”
Well, Naperville? No, of course not.
Evanston or Cicero or Evergreen park? Sure, that’s close enough for me. Maybe that’s just me.
“You don’t understand New Yorkers at all, but that’s understandable. But even upstaters were and still ARE POed at Ted for his remarks and phony non-apology.”
Fair enough. It seemed pretty clear to me though that he meant to criticize liberal values not just “attack NY”. I would figure on conservatives taking it that way rather than taking offense but ok.
Plenty of wonderful things about NYC and indeed all er... most of America’s big cities.
I lived in Chicago...NEAR NORTH; LSD and still gave friends there.
Well, they people I knew and know, there, don't consider Evanston, Wilmet, ( you threw Cicero in the mix? LOL ), nor any other part as Chicago; though Lincolnwood gets a pass, but NOT Skokie.
Shame about your Jewel! :-(
I'm a born and bred New Yorker ( Manhattan) so I DO understand it; even though I don't live there now. ;^)
Transplants from other parts of the nation don't "get it" either and they aren't REAL NEW YORKERS !
And there ARE times I miss Chicago, at times; especially my friends and looking out my windows at the lake.
Yeah, the polls show Trump doing bad against Hillary and worse against Sanders, yet people continue to claim he’s somehow electable. Despite there being decades worth of negative and potentially offensive quotes on camera from him for the Democrats to weave into attack ads. The Democrat campaign against Trump will make the Republican efforts look like love taps.
Well that explains the you that you are.....no wonder either!
You have no idea where else I have lived, summered, winetred, nor where I live now.
So what HELLHOLE were you born in and where do YOU live now?
You guessed well on where Billyboy lived too with less to go on, well done. ;d
Rather than escape to warmer or more GOP environs I think I’d most like to live downtown with a view of the lake. Many “vote with your feet” types wouldn’t understand, I complain about local politics and they say “move!”.
Been to NYC twice, before 9/11 when I was a teenager, I have a photo taken in the WTC observation deck, creeps me out to look at it and it’s year 2000 time stamp. I loved looking out of the hotel window in the middle of night and seeing a busy street and how big the city felt.
One "bad" thing about living on LSD, when the plane thing that goes on in the summer, one of the bathrooms over looked the lake and the planes fly at about our floor/window level. So it was either use a different bathroom, or close the drapes. LOL
Otherwise, no matter the season, it was always wonderful to look out over the lake and we used to watch the Mackinac sailboat race every year, from the living room or the library windows.
NYC is something else again, but sadly, it isn't what it used to be; but then, what is?
Yes, 9/11 was awful; especially for those who knew/was related to an innocent American who was murdered that dreadful day.
However, the invasion has underlying causes like demogrphy/Mark Steyn that are hardly discussed. Their populations grow while ours shrinks. Our fiat/debt/mercantile based monetary/economic system is helping to destroy their homeland economies to temporarily float ours. Our nation building and religious pluralism helps to create their civil wars. Our welfare system is like hanging a steak in front of a dog. All these things and many more many levels deeper are the roots of the illegal invasion.
No, I'm not an anti-Semite, nor am i a tinfoiler who believes in stupid conspiracy theories.
Oh come on...Chicago was the 3rd City, 50+ years ago and no, I didn't live there 50+ years ago, but yes, long ago.
You wear a blindfold, blinkers, and earplugs, so you don't understand the TRUMP MOVEMENT. :-)
That may be true, God knows.
But Trump is a vague and exceedingly dubious bill of goods and I could not vote for him if Cruz never existed and I was that last evangelical here on earth.
Trump is wonderfully entertaining though.
Glend Beck, like ted Cruz..is RIGHT ON THE ISSUES, religion attached to his lapel is secondary.
