In a last dash, final "hail mary" attempt to end a Donald Trump run for the White House once and for all, the National Review has decided to eviscerate the Republican front runner on the basis that he is not a conservative.
It will not work.

Thanks! High praise from a veteran FReeper, indeed.
Jim, compared to your history, I am a new comer.
Again, thanks for the excellent questions. Questions, which all of us need to be asking!
Trump is the only candidate to concern himself with borders, culture and the ability of common Americans to build wealth through productive means, not just Finance, Insurance and Real Estate.
Free Traders in a mercantilist world are suckers.
Not guilty, no matter how many schoolboys she seduces.
Ike was not a movement Conservative, he was just a very smart and organized man. Oh, didn’t he deport a ton of illegals?
Sorry, no cheap servants for the Club for Growth.
It’s become a marketing gimmick for the GOP-e to push their RINO candidates down our throat.
Trump said he believes abortion should only be legal in the very rare cases when a woman is pregnant by rape or incest or when the life of the mother is jeopardized by the pregnancy.
Short words, diagrammable sentences. I like it.
Bravo! We need a like button! I’m so sick of a conservative definition that leaves us as economic losers and gives us candidates that are ineffective eunuchs. I am so sick of so called conservative elected officials with their commie style show votes where they prove their conservative bona fides and accomplish jack squat. If being a loser is the definition of conservatism, I want no part of it. If being a conservative means favoring multinational corporations and their foreign slave labor over Americans you can keep it. I’d rather elect an America Firster than a so-called conservative globalist any day,
Gave a contribution,,,,, to national review. Wow, just wow.

NR is not conservative. It is the mouthpiece of the internationalist, globalist NWO. It is happy with open borders. It wants mass immigration. It wants every single war on earth to be a US national interest. It is content with uniparty governance.
Bill Krystol personifies NR.
And some think that such things are “conservative”.
And from the looks of it, they never will.
Andrea Tantaros gets it... you need to take a second look...
Yes experienced , knowledgeable and notice the tone !
Thus, this ridiculous disparagement of Trump, fits into an old pattern. It is too bad, because National Review has played a worthwhile role on many issues & fronts. But it has never accurately or fully defined American Conservatism.
Ain't princilpled conservatives, puke, but they do vote and will vote for Trump.
"Don't look now, but while our best conservative is running a political campaign, Trump is leading a rebellion. Not as a liberal or a conservative politician, but as a successful red-blooded, can-do American capitalist.", Jim Robinson
This is something I must have missed entirely. What is going on?
Roger Stone is a friend of Trump who worked for both Nixon and Reagan and many others. He is kind of a hatchet man, which when you are fighting the (D)evil itself is a very good thing IMHO. He famously "left" the Trump campaign early after Trump started and people think he had some conflict with Trump but I think it was just a brilliant strategy to get him embedded into the media. Maybe it was Stone's personal plan. But anyway, he is a very strong defender of his friend.
During Mark's slow motion nervous breakdown the past few weeks he has questioned us of abandoning principles, and associated Trump with everyone from Nixon to Herbert Hoover. He mentioned Stone a few times also, and Roger is quite angry about it. I mean he is really tearing Mark a new one, calling him every name in the book, challenging him to a duel debate. Calling him a coward now. And sneaky.
He is questioning Mark on what he was doing for Reagan ( Mark was at DoJ and was chief of staff for the great Ed Meese the Attorney General ). Stone was a high level adviser and friend of Reagan. In that original comment ( #35 ) I reposted one where Stone is asking where he really was ( sometimes I do myself since Mark keeps lumping 1980 with the 1984 landslide which were not the same thing ) during the Reagan administration.
Yeah, I hate to see fights between the good guys, but sometimes it cannot be avoided. Mark has ridiculed us Constitutionalists as "birthers" when he does not have a leg to stand on. A lot of dirty laundry is going to be aired today. ( Unrelated, Mark Levin is also taking shots at the blogger guy at CTH via Facebook ).
Anyway, you can see this Twitter thing for yourself. No matter what web browser you use you should be able to just click on the Twitter link and get a webpage view of Stone's Twitter account. I might be wrong but I don't think you need an account at Twitter to peruse threads. But if I am wrong, it is worth it to open one IMHO. Or just look for mentions of this elsewhere.
Here is another example ...

Interesting times. Family fights. But still this is nothing compared to the early years of the republic with Jefferson vs Adams vs Hamilton.
