Trump's comment came during a campaign rally Saturday at Dordt College in northwest Iowa. The 1,500-seat theater completely filled, hundreds more watched his speech from an overflow room.

It’s not the issues, it is the cult of personality. It’s like a false religion. No matter how much you confront someone with the truth, they will cling to their false religion and deny the evidence.
There really are only a few Cruz supporters who actually hate Trump. We just aren’t a majority of hateful people.
Good point about Cruz not projecting “the strength that a polarized America desperately needs” because Cruz’s strength may just not be in his language, facial expressions, or body language, but in his faith in the constitution.
It is quite similar to his faith in the Word of God which many FAR right wing Biblical Christians understand. It is not a faith in our own power, our own ability, but in what is not seen. It is faith in following the principles upon which the Constitution was built. If America rejects those principles, it is rejecting the One who gave them their constitution.
The right to life is Trumps biggest weakness and for me it crucial because life is from God.

Actually he never talks about the nation’s pre-born genocide, will never be for gun control because he needs protection, and has already explained that he wants to kick out illegal immigrants and let them come back in through whatever system he sets up. One issue that caught my attention is in regards to immigration:
“Nationwide e-verify. This simple measure will protect jobs for unemployed Americans.”
So he wants to set up an online national government site that employers can access that will verify a United States citizen. I hope it is as secure as Google.
I think we should have a thread that seriously looks at his positions and those he is not addressing. Only pro-life candidates have it on their websites.

OTOH, if he’d take aim at the streets of Washington DC, his poll numbers would “plateau” again.
It is frustrating about Cruz. He’s terrific, maybe perfect for this hour in our history.

I just can’t equate the US Constitution with God. Faith in God is faith in a power that can actually make things happen independent of our action. (i.e. God is still sovereign even if 100% of us deny that he exists.) The Constitution is a meaningless rag in a nation where people consider it to be a “living document” that can be twisted, added to, or ignored to suit the whims of rogue courts and legislators.
Even when people start using the “living document” excuse on the bible, God’s power remains sovereign.
So, you can fully have faith in God and know that he will do what he will do. But, faith in the US Constitution is no guarantee that anyone else will use it appropriately. Cruz lacks the will to exert any control over Congress or the courts. He also lacks the ability to use the bully pulpit to engage and lead the people (except for the ones who believe in him, and that is a small minority).
They select themsves. Decorated& proven combat commanders all. Get rid of ‘ leadership’ by CIVpoliticians and lawyers altogether
The inertia, the waste, the corruption, the lack of accountability, the separate set of rules for "us" and "them", the endless debt, the accelerating increase in size itself, and the constant and unrelenting whittling away of our liberties ALL are caused by the very size of government which has taken on a life of its own, distinct from The People.
Trump cannot save the Republic by limiting immigration alone. The scope of government is a far greater enemy than any other cause.
You have to stop the bleeding first. Since both parties have gone gloBULList Cheap Labor Express, Trump is the only one that has a chance to correct the border and curtail ALL immigration. This needs to be done for more than a generation to sort out the mess the Free Trader gloBULLists have made of the USA.
