It's inevitable when my husband and I visit family these days that the subject of violence in Baltimore comes up. Often, I'm the one who raises it. But when it came up last week on a trip to see my parents in Georgia, I got my back up. I thought of the 11-hour drive south and the billboards we passed along I-81 boasting guns for sale ("A Glock for Christmas"!), and of the story my brother-in-law, who lives in Florida, told of a neighbor stopping by to shoot the breeze in his suburban driveway, a handgun holstered at the man's waist as their kids played nearby.
A commenter on the Sun site found out the writer was arrested and jailed for drunk driving a few years ago. Commenter believes more appropriate question is “Do you know the drunk drivers in your circle?” ð
She really ought to move someplace else where she can be certain her kids will never encounter a gun. Mainland China comes to mind.
The gun owners in your circle are the ones you should be concerned with(spit up in mouth) not he black lives matter criminal thugs who live and loot in downtown baltimore
Washington Times though conservative is an organization of the (late)Reverend Sun Young Moon. So no thanks.
In my “circle” it would be easier to figure out the non-gun owners. We live in the midwest, people own guns, like..everybody. However, I’m thinking and at least 3 come to mind. One I know is afraid of guns, thinks an intruder will grab your gun and shoot you with it! Another one is just too poor and another one, well, let’s just say he’s not allowed to own guns.
“Sure, because all of them are”
Ditto here. :-)
Sorry, in a stroke of absolute incredible coincidence, me and all the gun owners I know have lost our weapons in various lakes and streams in Texas and Louisiana.
We lament and regret our bad luck.
I belong to former gunowners SCUBA enthusiasts.
From the author: “it’s the simple presence of the weapon in the home and the possibilities it presents that terrify me.”
Sounds like a personal problem to me.
Boats suck I tell ya. I hate boats.
My whole family, even the females over 21 carry.
OMG - that illustration launched a 40-year flashback...
No, I don’t know every single person in my county, only that they are armed to the teeth. Even the one’s who call themselves liberals.
That’s the whole point: not knowing.
The criminals are afraid when they don’t know who is armed.
That’s why it works as a deterrent.
And that is why “gun free zones” are idiotic.
I feel bad for those hapless, well meaning but (what is a good non insulting word?) fools that put signs in front of their homes advertising that they don’t have guns, or that they oppose gun ownership... and see them take the signs down two or three weeks after, after they had been the subject of a few robberies.
Preach it brother (or sister).
Boats are holes where you throw your money and they show their appreciation by throwing precious weaponry overboard.
I live in NE Maryland. Pretty much everyone in my circles won’t be having her kids over to play
The comments at the link are priceless. They should be recruited to FR.
Second the motion! Especially the guy who pulled up her Guilty plea to a DUI charge from a...(drum roll)...database. If I had kids, they'd be banned from playing at her house if she was driving.
