...

The ad goes on to say that Trump bulldozed the home of an elderly widow in Atlantic City to build a limousine parking lot at his casino.

"Trump won't change the system. He's what's wrong with it," it says in the end.

Cruz tweeted his ad Friday morning saying "It's time we change the system and break the #WashingtonCartel -- together!"

“Doesn’t mean we want trump for president.”

Well hate to break it to you, but Trump didn’t do this to help Cruz lazily walk into the nomination.

Cruz should have been on these issues back before Trump was. He wasn’t. Doesn’t mean that all of the people whose support Trump earned by taking the big risks, taking the heat, and making the big moves, are now obligated to pivot to Cruz because he expects it by entitlement.

It’s a d*ck move (and flat-out careless) to somehow even consider that that would be an option.

Again, it’s not Trump doing it. It’s a government agency doing it. Trump can’t file eminent domain.

I have to agree with you. Cruz just drafted behind Trump for months. He let Trump take out the competition and then he hoped Trump would stumble and he could waltz in and get all of Trumps supporters. This was never going to happen. Ted should have been more pro-active along the way. Now he just looks like a “me too”.

And again, if you think the government agency was not in Trump's pockets, then you're hopelessly naive.

IIRC from someone who posted a more complete version of the widows story and it went something like this:

Trump tried to get the property through emminant domain and lost.

He then offered he multiple mullions ($4m?) for the property, she refused.

Trump moved on.

Decades later she, or her son, sold the property for somewhere between $1m and $2m.

This ad reminds me of this during the debate:

Cruz denies the charge, saying, “I have never supported legalization, and I do not intend to support legalization.”

I guess the folks thinking this type of weazel talk is ok will be so pleased with legalization of illegal immigrants because Cruz doesn’t at this time intend to do that. How hard is it to just tell the truth?

When trump wasn’t attacking Sen. Cruz, the senator emphasized points of agreement. When the senator started running ahead trump attacked with dirty gutter politics and Sen. Cruz responded with issues-oriented replies.

No, it was long before that.

Here’s a transcript from a John Stossel report at the time that verifies the 250k figure:

OK, my IIRC is obviously incorrect.

See post #51 for the story, biased as it is, it’s more accurate than mine.

I’ve been a Trump supporter since 2011, and I have no ‘second pick’ in the race.

This issue is one that I disagree with Trump on, and I’m glad the widow was able to stick it out. Good for her.

I am truly sorry to see Cruz flat out lie.

It only takes a minute to find out the truth.

The woman was offered ten times the value of her home AND free lifetime residence at a Trump property in Florida.

She eventually sold and got far, far less than what she was offered.

She is to be pitied, maybe, although greed seems to have been her downfall.

I think the grandson finally sold it at auction to Ichan.

Trump has said that he offered her 2 million and a home for life and she turned it down.

This played out nightly on the Philadelphia news at the time and at least this listener felt that she was either being extremely greedy or else was getting terrible legal and financial advice.

This ad is a lie.

That’s not a lie, though.

I’m sure voters will feel so much better realizing they haven’t been lied to...just fooled into believing something that isn’t true.
