Marco Rubio once "arrested for drinking beer in public park" By Robert Tait, Los Angeles 3:23AM GMT 22 Jan 2016
Marco Rubio, the Republican presidential contender who has been touted as a possible choice of the party's "establishment", was once arrested in a Miami park notorious for gang violence, drug-dealing and prostitution, a newspaper profile has revealed.
He was detained along with two friends while going through a wayward late teenage phase for drinking alcohol in his home city's Alice C Wainwright Park after it had been closed to the public for the night.
Mr Rubio, a United States senator for Florida, was not charged after the arrest and the case was eventually dismissed.
Todd Harris, a spokesman for the candidate, said he had been arrested for breaking a municipal code by drinking beer but added that Mr Rubio had not been held in custody or appeared in court.
But the May 1990 incident - which occurred five days before his 19th birthday - marked an important turning point in Mr Rubio's development, according to an investigation by the Washington Post, which uncovered the episode.

LOL. I nominate you for the Posted Reply of the Day.
Good point. Can't trust politicians running for election. Or after they are elected for that matter.
Ditto. I'm only surprised that it took 54 posts for someone to say this.

There is no pure candidate running this year (and never has been).
Stop the insanity and talk about what matters and who is able to handle it.

There are some “out there” websites that claim this park was notorious for being a place for homosexuals to go for hooking up. Also, “they” say that the man he was with, Angel, was later arrested for running a gay porn site near a school or something.
If this is true, I can’t imagine how Rubio would have kept it a secret all these years. I don’t like him anyway - gay or straight.
