Senator Ted Cruz seems to express disgust and outrage against the tactics deployed by what he calls the “DC Machineâ€. Cruz states that their conduct in the Mississippi runoff was "incredibly disappointing" etc.
However, we now know - from specific documentation provided by internal research into the activity around the Mississippi campaign - that the National Republican Senatorial Campaign, the NRSC, was the financier for the attack ads against Chris McDaniel.
So who is the "DC Machine", this "leadership of the NRSC", that Senator Ted Cruz is so incredibly disappointed in?

A filing with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) shows that the NRSC paid National Media Research, Planning & Placement of Alexandria, Virginia $13,000 for media production and $69,000 for the attack ads.

Because they make it look like it’s from Trump...some of the emails even say ‘from Donald’.
That's a response? Ignorance is no excuse for somebody who wants to be president.
You don't give money to a Clinton butt wipe, against a Tea Party candidate, if you want to be president, and if you want what's best for the country.

Now that’s the mark of a true leader/genius! It’s interesting to me how Cruz keeps getting ‘fooled’. Why is that?
And this silly new tactic, to claim the establishment is suddenly behind Trump, pitiful, really a pitiful tactic.
But I guess they have to keep trying, eventually ONE of their new angles might work.

Ummm...he publicly supported a group trying to throw Mitch McConnell out of the Senate. Just how much more do you expect him to do?

Sure he did. You don’t back organizations trying to throw the Senate Majority Leader out without being provocative.
He also tried working within the Party, which is what a person needs to try - until it is certain the Party is too corrupt.

So...what does TRUMP do? He supports Democrats. He praises Hillary, saying he knew her and she would be a fine President in 2008. He praised Obama in 2009. He funds democrats. He wants to deport illegal immigrants, then put the “good ones” at the head of the line to return. He was for Cruz before he was against him. He was against ethanol before he was for it. He wanted Oprah for VP just 15 years ago.
And you want me to trust HIM? Not Cruz, but Mr “Hillary would be a fine President” Trump?
Cruz was not just one member. He was the Vice Chair.
Trump's the one saying it, there. He's bragging about it in his speeches.
Cruz wasn’t fooled. He tried to reform the system from within, and the party is hopelessly broken. Once that was clear, he left the NRSC. That’s how to go about it. About the time Cruz was supposedly ‘fooled’ Trump was donating to Democrats and left-leaning republicans. Oh, and the Clinton Foundation.
Exactly what part of “discussed and debunked” do you fail to comprehend ?
Don’t even attempt to drag me through this phony and disgusting mess in trying to smear the best Senator in that hive of villainy and scum.
I’m not joining this crucification movement on either side. I support both Cruz AND Trump and am here to say this back and forth is diminishing and harming both at a time we need BOTH of them. We need to be united against the left. Drop these shameful, false attacks and focus your energies on the real enemy.
Do you now how much a vice chair controls in an organization? Basically nothing. They are the benchwarmer in case of a need. Cruz was given the position in hopes of compromising him, but he did not give in to the insiders.
The Dem Establishment will likely have to devour Sanders if he starts actually winning these early caucii and primaries. I just refuse to participate in attacks on our two leading candidates. It is counterproductive and proves ultimately destructive. We don’t need bad blood at this point.
He didn’t fight them either. Or expose them.

Only one can be President. As long as Cruz is running against him “The Donald” will attack him with whatever BS lies he can, just like he did to Walker.
I do believe he has exposed them. Time and time again. That’s why he’s hated. That’s why he called McConnell a liar. The Senate leadership and campaign apparatus is a scam and nothing but a vehicle to convert and control members to the agenda of the moderate wing and money interests. You can’t fix something that has all the puppet strings from leadership and big money donors. The NSRC is what it is, and conservatives who have not been compromised have worked around it through other organizations, supporting other candidates directly and direct contact with voters. If ya’ll are saying somehow Cruz hasn’t fought the fight, it’s simply an obtuse argument.

Boom! Nobody stepped up and helped McDaniel. Just like nobody is trying to stop Obama by impeachment. This is the bad state of congress. Tea Party is a mess. Otherwise it would have been howling about this and done more than howl. Cruz and the rest should have stepped up to bat. I figured it was not his role to do it. But he should have anyways. They all should have come to rescue of McDaniel. They just dropped it just like Fast and Furious was dropped.

Is the question that’s been brought up been answered yet? That would be: Did Cruz know that the money was being used to fund that very nasty smear campaign against McDaniel? Because if it was, Cruz should have gone public about that at the time. If he knew and didn’t go public at the time, he was playing the insider game, and it’s another example that he’s not quite the maverick he frames himself to be.
Sounds like a person that should. He doesn’t succumb to the efforts to compromise him. Principle is the greatest character trait. Few in DC have principle. He tried to play nice and fix the system. The system aims to compromise, he backs out and looks to leapfrog those corrupting the system.
Frankly anyone on Free Republic who would not welcome a President Cruz is horribly, horribly misguided. Even if supporting another candidate. The last couple weeks is the worst case I’ve ever seen of eating our own. This is why we lose time and again destroying our very best. It’s sick.
