Donald Trump said Tuesday that federal regulators should increase the amount of ethanol blended into the nationâs gasoline supply.
Speaking at an event hosted by the Iowa Renewable Fuels Association, Trump, a real estate mogul and the front-runner for the Republican presidential nomination, said the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) ought to follow the ethanol volumes Congress set in 2007.
âThe EPA should ensure that biofuel ... blend levels match the statutory level set by Congress under the [renewable fuel standard],â Trump said. The mandate is popular in Iowa, which hosts the nation's first caucuses.

I studied this one with M. Levine.
Ethanol is subsidized. Ethanol kills motors.
Wow. My first disagreement with the man.
Hey, it will happen.
He is a business man. Would know this is bad all around?
I don’t credit “The Hill” for accuracy, so I will address the science on this: ethanol is inefficient, polluting and destructive in motor vehicle gasoline.
The source article and headline say different things. Why is that?
Trump called for following the biofuel blend standard. He didn’t call for increasing the amount of ethanol in gasoline.
Deceprion is all you’ve got these days?
Whatever if takes to win.
hardcore trumpees are blind.
Is Ethanol the hill you want to die on? I rather give my money to Iowan farmers than Saudi Sheiks.
An ethanol-powered bazooka? This “my candidate’s d&@ck is bigger than your candidate’s” is embarrassing.
>> Ethanol is making him rich!
Whoever makes Sta-Bil is no doubt doing well, also.
I swear by Sta-Bil as much as I swear at ethanol.
It's an even bigger shame that it will go over big with "conservatives" that support Trump on this forum. Mandates supported by Obama = BAD; mandates supported by Trump = GOOD!
Hahah I’m stealing this
:)
Pandering is effective. Look at Ted pandering to the church people.
The question is which group has more horsepower to deliver the votes.
Support for the Kelo decision and Ethanol subsidies clearly demonstrate Trump is not in favor of free markets.
Just what you would expect from a pandering conman liberal.
It is disappointing, though, that he does seem to be pandering.
Mitt Romney = Donald Trump with yellow hair.
Whatever it takes to buy votes.
>> I rather give my money to Iowan farmers than Saudi Sheiks.
I’d rather give *my* money to American and Canadian oilmen in the free market, rather than to Iowa big agriculture at the point of an EPA gun. Because conservatism. :-)
Will be interesting to see how the voracious and viscous Trumpeters respond to this call which will destroy most engines on and off the road today. Will they be willing to keep using food as a fuel and forcing food prices higher worldwide?
To answer your question - Trump is not a conservative not now or ever and as things roll along his real politics will be come more and more evident. His politics could end up making Jeb look like a conservative and Hilary a well-meaning moderate to Trump’s right.
Trump like Hillary is a slick opportunistic salesman saying whatever people want to hear in the moment - he believes in nothing but himself.
He has already said he supported this months ago.
That's a throwaway campaign line, nothing more, nothing less
