Donald Trump, speaking to a religious crowd at Virginia's Liberty University on Monday, turned to scripture.
"We're going to protect Christianity. I can say that. I don't have to be politically correct," he said. "Two Corinthians, 3:17, that's the whole ballgame ... is that the one you like?"

When did Trump read off a teleprompter? He will refer to notes occasionally. Not a big deal I was just curious. Thanks.
[I actually have never had access to a teleprompter.]
It is rather difficult to use a teleprompter, especially if it is scrolling faster than your reading ability (and if you have vision problems)
No, in your case it’s more like a broken record.
Politico and the Bible in the same sentence is well insane. :-)
Pitiful. Obviously, there are no biblically literate Christians on his staff to tell him that John 3:16, is referred to as “the Gospel in a nutshell,” but no passage is “the whole ballgame.”
Oh my gosh. that isn't even a sin. Lord. Get a grip. Donald is doing a great job. Not everyone can just quote every verse of the Bible and quite frankly good. Who wants some regergitator anyway. Cruz probably regurgitates the Bible. Not impressed.
I’d promised myself not to respond to posters who deal in personal insults, but yours was so elegant ...
“YOu suck seriously”
A serial unrepentant (unforgiven, not wanting forgiveness) adulterer? He is clueless.
First of all, I am not judging Trump on pronoucing a book of the Bible. I find it odd - kinda like an off-key musical note. Ain't nothin' wrong with commenting to that affect.
Secondly and wholly outside of Trump's quotation of Scripture, have you read what the Bible says about judging other believers?
1 Corinthians 5:2 What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside?
We are supposed to hold other believers accountable. This thread has nothing to do with that.
As for Trump keeping his confessions private, that's his right. I don't know that I would tell anyone either. I also wouldn't tell anyone that I had never confessed anything. That is another oddity.
I believe that what he was implying is that your seem to be reading from a narrative that everything Trump does is evil.
Nick, this whole thread is an example of the depths of the sickness the Crewz have spread on this forum.
He said 2 instead of second.
That is now something that adults want Trump disqualified for.
Wake up folks. Get a grip.
You are better than this. You all are.
For heaven’s sake. Snap out if it.
This is EVIL.
Next time he might say “Eye eye Corinthians” LOL. Would that be just semantics too?
agreed - pharisee’s have a hard time seeing how they are out of line with God. I have had to deal with it in myself and I encounter numerous christians who often speak and act as pharisees. we all need more of Jesus daily.
Dearest Molly ... the only person on FR who thinks for herself.
Yes, and he also had Mitt Romney speak at commencement in 2012 one month after Romney said that two people of the same sex who "love each other" should be able to adopt children.
As someone who was born and raised in Lynchburg and lives fifteen minutes away from Liberty, I can say truthfully that Liberty students are the best in the world, but Jerry Jr. has been bitten by the fame bug.
II Corintians. Is that pronounced “eye eye Corinthians”? Better ask your Trump genius.
You have it right and I agree, their display of perfection is nauseating!
Ted Cruz come off as more strident and ideological. If I was his consultant, I would have him study Reagan more. Reagan didn’t come across as so ideological. He came off as friendly, personable, casual (sometimes more formal), humorous. Reagan didn’t sound like a demagoging politician. He sounds like a “regular guy” and likeable, contrasting with his Democratic opponents. Clinton noticed that. Clinton knew he didn’t need to come off like Dukakis or Tsongas.
That was a much better response than the one I got earlier, which was
“YOu suck seriously.”
No, more like “I don’t pretend I”m so effing perfect that I can tell other people how to be MORE Christian”
IN other words, like you.
