Donald Trump, speaking to a religious crowd at Virginia's Liberty University on Monday, turned to scripture.
"We're going to protect Christianity. I can say that. I don't have to be politically correct," he said. "Two Corinthians, 3:17, that's the whole ballgame ... is that the one you like?"

Aren’t we all.
Works for me.
When you do it, it’s just nasty.
[Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.â]
TRUMP was referring to LIBERTY University.
It is actually a fantastic verse. People who say we are not electing a pope, that is true enough. However, electing leaders without that Spirit of the Lord, there won’t be a lot of liberty. Rather, it will continue to be lost.
Yeah, the “Two Corinthians” thing was funny.
Our President doesn’t need to be a Biblical scholar. He needs to be our President.
Go Trump!
Yeah that’s right. He clowns it up with a misplaced Bible reference but it’s still Ted’s father’s fault.
Makes perfect sense..........if you support Trump that is.
I had been hoping I could stick with Trump all the way, but this convinces me he’s the devil incarnate.
How anyone could do this, it just shakes my faith in him.
I’ve never seen anything like it.
It truly causes me to rethink my connection to the Divine.
Does Trump have any idea how many souls will be lead astray by this?
Is there no depths so low, this man won’t sink to them just to enslave this nation to Satan?
>These moments of insanity brought to you by Ted Cruz inc. It’s what they do.<
You realize that Christians already have a saviour, right? We really aren’t looking for another one...
Wow. Is that what God says? I take you aren't a Christian. I am not an Evangelical, but they send missionaries all over the world to convert people. Believe it or not, they look at that as a good thing. Are you pone of those people who would be angry if a Muslim converted to Christianity? Like Obama, you think Evangelicals should only be in the South, so they don't get their "cooties" on the rest of the country?
They have conveniently forgotten “Judge not that ye be not judged.”
I have never read off a teleprompter.
I am cool with him not being an expert on the Bible. I want a President not a Pope. I go to church to get my faith. I don’t need a President teaching me about my faith. Trump 2016.
Can you tell me which former Presidents in your opinion, had the “Spirit of the Lord”?
As I said initially, it has to do with context. The context of the verse matters. It doesn’t match the situation IMHO.

Nice capital letters.
Bill O'Reilly routinely says "two twelve" or "two sixteen", etc., instead of how most people would say "2012" or "2016". Big whoop.
Sort of. I actually do think it is nitpicking.
But I also think it is embarrassing for everyone involved to have one claiming to be a Christian who knows next to nothing about what Christianity is all about.
I actually have never had access to a teleprompter. When public speaking, I try to memorize enough to speak without notes. Sometimes I have notes, but I try no to use them. I think you are more likely to screw up if you have to depend on notes. Trump is an example. He projects and is a good public speaker, but when he has to read off something, it’s not as good. He should stick to his strengths.
