Conservative radio host Glenn Beck apologized for claiming that Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump had voted for President Barack Obama in 2012 and 2016, saying he'd been duped by a fake tweet.
Beck was a guest on Fox News' "The O'Reilly Factor" last week, making a case for why he thinks "progressive" Trump would be as big of a "monster" as Barack Obama – a case he's been making for many months.
Trump watched and responded to the show with a slew of unpleasant opinions about "dopey" Beck to a New Hampshire crowd.
When Trump denied ever having voted for the president Beck tweeted:

Oh, I’m sure there will be times when I slap him up side the head figuratively too.
He’s ultimately responsible for his mistakes, so I’m not here to give him a pass.
He’s a negative to be sure, and as I said on this thread or another, I am sorry that he has as much public exposure as he does.
People will gauge what a real Conservative is using Beck in the mix. That is not good.
He got a pair of glasses that looked straight from the shelves of the British National Health Service.
I only like real chocolate.
His listening audience has dropped 1 million. He only has 1.2 million. This man is on meds.
Poor guy. I expect to read of his suicide any day. Hope he finds help.

Beck is a good man who screwed up. Big deal. Unfortunately, he is right about Trump being a progressive.
Unless somebody *admits* for whom they voted, it’s a secret ballot. Plus, timing is everything. *I* voted for Barack Obama in 2008 - in the primaries to stop Hillary. In the general, I voted third party because I couldn’t bring myself to vote for McCain (still can’t).
As a New Yorker, it’s very possible Trump voted in the Dem Primary because that’s the only way his vote can count in that state. I would not hold that against him if he did.
Glenn had the balls to stand for Terri Schiavo, and people here treat the man like sewage. He has donated millions to victims of tragedies. Frankly, I think that posters here should feel shame, but you won’t. Dumping on Beck is too much fun!
Trump is a Johnny-Come-Lately on the border security issue. In 2012 he criticized Romney’s position on immigration.

I congratulate Trump for finally getting on the correct side of the border issue, but it’s only because he knows that will get him a lot of support to win the nomination.
Also, remember in his book “The Art of the Deal” he suggests to always start by aiming for the most you can get, then make concessions to get the deal approved. There is a strong chance that at the end of the negotiations he might only get part of what he is now promising.

Absolutely. His rally interfered with the TeaParty rally that was held the next week. People didn’t know which one to go to.
He took away from the TeaParty. This was the second year of the TeaParty. I think if Beck had not had a rally around the same time, the second TeaParty rally would have been as large as the first. The TeaParty was just beginning to grow. Beck and the IRS tried to stop it.
