Quoting Joe Namath, Jeb Bush ‘Guarantees’ Nomination
WALTERBORO, SC (AP)—At a South Carolina fund raiser today republican Presidential candidate Jeb Bush reached back into history to quote one of football's great former quarterbacks, Joe Namath of the New York Jets.
When asked by a supporter if he thinks he can win the party's nomination Bush replied ‘I guarantee it’ which is the same reply given by Namath to a reporter when asked if the Jets could beat Earl Morrells’ Baltimore Colts in the 1968 season Super Bowl III.
At the time, Joe Namath was the most flamboyant quarterback in the AFL and the prediction created a media firestorm around the young quarterback and the Jets a few days before the big game.
When asked how his campaign would overcome the large polling deficit between himself and the leading candidates, Bush's body tensed into a slight hunch and with elbows pulled into his sides and fists clinched replied, ‘We're gonna go inside, we're gonna go outside, inside and outside. We're gonna get ‘em on the run and once we get ‘em on the run we're gonna keep ‘em on the run. And then we're gonna go go go go go go and we're not gonna stop til we get across that goal line!’
The twenty or so supporters in the banquet room at the Walterboro Holiday Inn erupted into cheers seeing their candidate so enthused.
‘It's reviving and refreshing to see new energy in Jeb’ said another supporter, ‘after seeing that I wrote a check for $20’ she said.
Bush's campaign continues to build and hopes to accelerate on the endorsement from former Presidential candidate and GOP powerhouse Senator Lindsey Graham.
delusional.
Sickening, but quite frankly with how the primary works, it wouldn’t shock me. Stupid southern states are proportional and the liberal blue states are winner takes all. So really at this point anyone can win. Yep it is true. We have NO idea who will be our nominee and it might just be someone that we are not thinking about right now (at least the top group.).
Is this satire? had to be.
I MET Joe Namath, being a Jet fan my whole life.
jeb, you are NO Joe Namath!!!
Alrighty then.
Reads like an Onion article
I think Jeb’s “energy rise” can be attributed to his daughter Noelle getting him some crack.
I have read the author’s work before, but since forgotten
What an imbecile!
People think this D. Mentia article is real.
It is fake but accurate, people.
El Jebbe's gone full Howard Dean. You never go full Howard Dean.
Namath was drunk at the time.
Jeb is nuts.
At least the Jet’s defense played a great game and they won.
I’m conflicted. Part of me loves to see the guy who played the part of Pontius Pilate in the Terri Schiavo tragedy being crushed politically.
And then there’s part of of me that wishes he would get the GOP nod, so the dying elephant would be finished off once and for all.
Can we all agree on this: ALL OF US would rather have Trump or Cruz than this Jabroni weak chinned RINO globalist scum bag.
You are right.
We cannot go back to the Bush years. Year after year conservatives defended GWB while him, Rove, and his administration did NOTHING to challenge the left and their lies. They sat back and left ALL the work to us to do it. No more. It’s time the United States had someone articulate and can challenge the leftist ideology.
what a weirdo
In all seriousness, I do believe Jeb is becoming unhinged, if he’s not already.
What is scary is that Bush may be right. The Illuminati is a powerful ally, ad the Bush Crime Family is a charter member. Conservative Treehouse has outlined for months the Bush plan for a “brokered convention.” The powers that be don’t give a damn if Bush loses, so long as Trump cannot win. There are TRILLIONS at stake.
