Donald Trump Shuts Down Ted Cruz’s Criticism Of His ‘New York Values’ [VIDEO]

Cruz "insulted a lot of people," Trump said. "I've had more calls on that statement that Ted made. New York is a great place, it's got great people, it's got loving people, wonderful people. When the World Trade Center came down, I saw something that no place on Earth could have handled more beautifully, more humanely than New York."

"[T]wo one hundred and ten story buildings come crashing down. I saw them come down. Thousands of people killed, and the clean up started the next day and it was the most horrific cleanup in the history of doing this and in construction," Trump said.

"I was down there. And I've never seen anything like it. And the people in New York fought and fought and fought and we saw more death and even the smell of death, nobody understood it. And it was with us for months, the smell, the air. And we rebuilt downtown Manhattan and everybody in the world watched and everybody in the world loved New York and loved New Yorkers. And I have to tell you that was a really insulting statement that Ted made."

Cruz did not offer a response to Trump.

NYC the city that elected not one but two horrible authoritarian mayors in a row? The NYC which lets the city government even dictate the size of their soft drinks? Those values? I would ask the question did any of the Bloomberg Laws effects Trumps quality of life and rights personally such as personally going armed? Or was his rights obtained by his position of power? I do not trust northeastern Atlantic candidates that includes the Bush Family and Christie.

84,473 voters can’t be wrong! That is a bigger sample by factor of 100 than almost all other polls.

Everyone knows that NY is the most corrupt state in the US. Cruz’s smile told you that. Covered it as well as he could

They want to divide the country into this red/blue state bull shit, state vs state instead of speaking plain to the people and drilling into their head were all being ripped off, undermined and economically gang raped. So far they’re very receptive as they’ve become the results of this epic disaster. It’s what lawyers turned politicians do, they con the people.

Screw this crap. Being in CA I’ll put my values with those good folks in NY any damn day of the week. And I feel the same for all states. We’re supposed to be American brothers and sisters but they’ve nearly succeeded in dividing the once united.

Oh, I’d throw Louisiana and New Jersey into the hopper if I were you. Cruz said nothing about Shelly Silver et al, btw. If you think everyone in the country got that, you’re out of your mind. Trump tied his remarks into 9/11 and ordinary citizens and hit him over the head with it. Cruz should never have gone there.

William F Buckley did not have New York values.

Just like Reagan did not have Hollywood values.

As a Midwesterner I find it insulting that NY has co-opted 9/11 to it's exclusivity. It may have occurred in NY and Pennsylvania and Virginia but it happened to all of America

Cruz lost me to night doubling down on that. He doesn’t want to be president of the entire nation - only his precious red states. Not even an attempt to win over the blue.

Especially when Cruz lives by (NY) Wall Street fat cat Goldman Sachs values. The ads write themselves now. Very, very short sighted attempt by Cruz to win Iowa. This will bite him in the butt big time.

I love that little “clerical error” as well.

Cruz is just desperate so I can’t blame him. He has to win Iowa and is seeing what sticks.

You need to accept that this was not Teds best night. Trump was better prepared than Ted expected and without Rand Paul ambushing Rubio Cruz got hurt on his shaky taxplan and H1-B visas plus TPA. He was playing defense and it showed.

Look for Trump to move up in the polls in coming days.

Been here since ‘99.

Supporting Trump.

I can fully understand why so many FReepers support Cruz, but Trump is my guy this time around.

“Cruz lost me to night doubling down on that. He doesn€™t want to be president of the entire nation - only his precious red states”

Hilary Clinton and Chuck Schumer are New York values. I say that because New Yorkers elect them to represent the state in the Senate. And they elect many others just as bad to other state and federal offices. And look at the lunatics they routinely elect to manage New York City.

There is such a thing as New York values. And those values are, for the most part, bad.

Do you know who then candidate Bush’s policy adviser was in 1999?

It was Ted Cruz. Ted sent a memo to Bush either telling him to come out against Proposition 187, or how to explain he was against it to the media.

I never knew Cruzman Sachs was playing for the Cheap Labor Express in that battle, interesting. Thanks.

For those that don’t know: Prop 187 was huge, huge deal back in the 1990s in California. Like the gay marriage battle now or something similar.

I like Ted but he didn’t shut down anything. He is going to be facing lawsuits if he is the nominee. That makes him a liability like Hillary is to the Dems.
