Sununu: Trump is 'Phony', No Conservative
Newsmax ^ | 1/11/2016 | Bill Hoffman

Whom Donald Trump has insinuated is unintelligent — fired back on Monday, calling the billionaire developer and Republican presidential front-runner a "lefty liberal" who's "thin-skinned" and "all mouth."

In an explosive interview with Newsmax TV's Steve Malzberg, the former New Hampshire governor who also served as chief of staff to President George H.W. Bush, lashed out at Trump's nose-thumbing barb which was reported by the Wall Street Journal. "Can you believe this guy? He was fired like a dog and he doesn't even realize it," Trump said of Sununu. "That's funny coming from a guy who's got four major billion-dollar bankruptcies," Sununu retorted referring to financial problems several of Trump's companies had years ago.

Sununu added, "he has no substance, he has no plan, he's all mouth, he's thin-skinned. Trump likes to brag that he can't be bought because he's so rich. "[Russian President Vladimir] Putin proved [Trump is] the cheapest guy in politics today with 10 cents worth of flattery. Putin had him sucked up all the way. This is a guy that you can't have as commander in chief." Sununu also dismissed the hay Trump is making over whether his chief rival Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas is eligible to be president since he was born in Canada. "Trump is out trying to knock anybody who's nipping at his tails.

"All his life he's been a lefty liberal, he supports Obamacare, he's all for eminent domain, he has told us he's very pro-life even on immigration. This guy has been a lifelong liberal on immigration and now he's a conservative all of a sudden?

He is setting up the straw man that to be a registered Republican, one must have impeccable conservative credentials, even though poll after poll has shown that conservativism per se is a minority of around 40% of our electorate, within which an extreme conservative faction of around 10% or more are too pure to vote for insufficiently conservative candidates (most of whom seem to post on this Forum), leaving a group of around 30% potential conservative voters who would actually vote for a more moderate candidate. So how does he propose that Republicans make up the difference to actually win a national race like the presidency -- especially since we do not have a one man-one vote pure democracy, so a wide margin needs to be built in to account for the Electoral College system that protects us from mob rule.

The pecksniffian holier-than-thou wing of the "party" loathes people who make the attempt to actually form a big tent and get along with many types of groups through finding broad common interests, believing their role to be exclusionary and doctrinaire rather than "love thy neighbor", "pray for your enemies" and "render unto Caesar" Christians so that we might have a nation that, despite its pluribus, remains unum. Trump personifies the big tent type of leader, who loves people as he finds them, seeks to draw out of each group the positive basics that many American groups have in common, and seems to want to exclude only the sworn and demonstrable enemies (illegals and ideological supporters of shari'a) of this broader idea of a workable Christian society.

Those Christians who want to use this election to force the U.S. back into a functional theocracy by the power of Federal government do not seem to realize what they are demanding of their candidate, and how greatly they will be disillusioned if Cruz were to be elected and then fail to outlaw abortion and other religious hot-button issues due to opposition from the large liberal/progressive contingent.

God and His law are not defeated by those who don't believe. Doubts, fears and unrepentant sin in the hearts of believers have allowed the fascist secularists to take over. The hearts of believers need to be governed by the minds of believers, first and foremost. Government cannot do that for us.

You need to reread the Constitution and the founding Fathers, because you have a seriously warped view of what they said.

You want to give up ALL you freedoms, and what are you going to get for that?

should compete with his hands tied behind his back

Yes, and I supposes businesses shouldn't "tie there hands behind their back," by not using illegal immigrant labor, too? You are going to vote to drown this country in a tidal wave of illegal immigration and what will you get for it?

using illegal immigrant labor

Care to share your evidence on that? I suspect that you are being less then honest on this one.

OK, perhaps not 100% Perhaps Sununu is not 100% either. GWB was certainly NOT. TRUMP is just as much of a conservative as any other R who might be running. CRUZ is the conservative and the reason for TRUMP to even be in this picture. That is the reason it is so imperative that CRUZ get this NBC put to bed. TRUMP has his faults..but he does know how to get the job done. And CRUZ is needed to see the man does it legally according to our CONSTITUTION. Trump=Brawn
CRUZ=Brain

No, you need to read it without the bias of your Cruz colorized decoder ring. And no, I don't want to give up my freedoms based on how many campaign dollars some politician can get for them.

Trump is a conservative, in fact he is by far the most conservative candidate we have had since Reagan, maybe even before.

Seek help.

LOL. This has nothing to do with Cruz. I have problems with Cruz, and have been accused of being a Cruz-bashed before. Cruz definitely doesn't leave me thrilled, but it would be ridiculous to say he isn't far to the right of the RINO faction you represent.

Personally, I don't trust ANY Republican on immigration, including Cruz. But one candidates business is dependent on illegal immigration and has a terrible track record and a campaign manager who is a lobbyist for weaponized amnesty.

Not only a strait face, I absolutely believe it. And I am not alone. In fact you may be surprised to find more folks believe as I do then don't. But come April, you will no longer doubt it.

The Republic is crumbling. The enemy needs but one final charge to snuff out the flickering flame of freedom. To bring us all darkness, for all time. You say to the man in the foxhole with you,
‘Give me the Holy Hand Grenade!’
Sununu replies,’No thou shan’t use this one, for it is not holy enough!’
‘What does that matter? They are coming, hand me The Holy Hand Grenade of Manhattan! Now!’
Sununu,’No, it is a far better thing for all of us to be imprisoned, tortured, and hopefully die rather than using a weapon that is not holy enough!’
The specter of Hitlery’s walking dead can be seen slogging their way closer and closer, in exasperation, you train your side arm at Sununu’s forehead and say,’Hand me the Holy Hand Grenade of Manhattan...NOW!’
Jeb intervenes and says, ‘Umm, er, I can fix it! I’ll crawl back to camp and get the Holy Hand Grenade of Ambien. You guys stay here, I’ll be back. I’m going to fix this.’ He then falls asleep.
Ted Cruz says in a direct and articulated manner, with a strained face of constipation,
‘Halt! You can not shoot a conscript for refusing an order. The last to do so was one Eddie Slovak, who in 1945 was found guilty of desertion. The case was adjudicated on Nov 11 by nine staff officers of the 28th Division, none of whom had yet been in battle. One of those judges, Benedict B. Kimmelman, wrote a stark and intriguing account of his role in the story of Pvt Slovik, capturing the scene thusly:
Five witnesses were heard. The cross-examinations were perfunctory. The defense made no closing argument. The court recessed for ten minutes, resumed, and retired almost immediately afterward...’

With time running out you pull the trigger, grab the Holy Hand Grenade of Manhattan, and that’s when Huckabee starts his incantation:’Then did he raise on high the Holy Hand Grenade of Manhattan, saying, ‘Bless this, O Lord, that with it thou mayst blow thine enemies to tiny bits, in thy mercy.’
While Rubio is enlisting illegals,Christie is complaining about the lack of rations and Paul is rolling a joint, Fiorina is busy selling company ordinance for half the cost and Kaisch is waving a white flag. You toss the Holy Hand Grenade of Manhattan and count,’One, Two, Five!’
With great aplomb, the weapon detonates causing the most beautiful, grand explosion ever seen, it was such a wonderful and great explosion that you will never remember or want to see any other explosion. It was a yuuuge explosion with the loudest of loud booms ever that boomed!
You look out of the fox hole, and they were all gone. And you say, ‘We win, they lose.’

This is one of the best summaries of what is reality. We’ve been told time and time again that the majority of the voting public is conservative. I really don’t know. I know that there are common veins among Americans, that has been skewed because of misinformation given to the low informational voter by the democrats, and secondly the influx of foreigners who vote democrat.

Charles Krauthammer said something last night that really hits the mark, and I think Trump more than anyone feels the same way. Kraut said:

“America has one million first round draft picks. Why don’t we start using them, and bring in the best people to bring into this country. Instead we bring in anyone, and many time the worst for the worst reasons.”

The elected conservatives in congress have already screwed over the middle class enough. They all caved on Obama’s omnibus. I will not be fooled again. They are all controlled by their rich donors. This time I am voting for an independent rich self-funded candidate.
