When Cruz was my constitutional law student at Harvard, he aced the course after making a big point of opposing my views in class â arguing stridently for sticking with the original meaning against the idea of a more elastic living Constitution whenever such ideas came up. I enjoyed jousting with him, but Ted never convinced me â nor did I convince him. At least he was consistent in those days. Now, he seems to be a fair weather originalist, abandoning that methodâs narrow constraints when it suits his ambitionâ⦠~ Laurence H Tribe (Harvard)

In 2012, the pivotal issue was Obama care and we nominated the worst possible candidate to argue the case against it. The author of Romneycare.
So now, with illegal immigration and national sovereignty the premiere issues of 2016, we are flirting with a candidate whose own constitutionally required legal status is in question? Stupid Party indeed!
Oh boy...

Or a candidate whose business depends on illegal immigrant labor? With a side project in sending manufacturing overseas?
Who recently supported Romneycare and open borders and now supports socialized health care. I am talking about Trump.
Ya know, I’ll be supporting Trump all the way to the White House, but this stuff is just downright stupid.
So we need a game show host who showered praise and money on the Clintons after B Clinton gave the Chinese the missile tech necessary to target the US with nukes.
Got it.
So if I get the gist of this, Cruz was wrong then and I disagreed with him. But he is wrong now and I still disagree with him. So I am a superior being.

Kind of like CRuziteering from the CRuzervativecReviewz.com?
LOL...at least CTH doesn’t generate BS candidate ratings that happen to be glowing about one particular (PAC-owned candidate).
My issue is that I, like many others, don’t really understand the law regarding this and so I read every thing I can, pro and con, to try to develop my own opinion. I really don’t know any other way to approach this. To me it’s a major issue. If he truly is ineligible then we can expect the rats to make an issue of it even though they’ve gotten away with Obama. If he is eligible then it is peace of mind for his supporters.
The whole thing seems to be up for much debate...something that Cruz himself really likes.
Why don’t you address the argument instead of disparaging the source? One can only assume that you don’t have an argument against what’s stated here.
This is just hilarious. This primary has really separated the chaff from the wheat. Some anti-constitutional law professor is telling you what the constitution’s original intent is and you run with it because it helps your candidate.
Your candidate: the guy who donated to Clintons, Corey Booker, Terry McAuliffe, Chuck Schumer, and Rahm Emanuel. The guy who said Obama was doing a great job. He said Bill Clinton is a great person. He said Warren Buffet would be on his presidential staff. The guy who sent people to the Playboy Mansion as a reward for winning his reality/game show. The guy who rents apartments to terrorists. The guy who makes fake universities, charges tuition, and never shows up. The guy who buys politicians. The guy who uses his government ties to try to steal old ladies property....
This is the guy you’re hoping wins, and for his benefit, you’re hoping this anti-constitutional law professor’s interpretation will hurt a true conservative.
Trump said there was not problem, that he looked into it and Cruz was eligible. Do you think he is?
Did you read the article?
The comments to the article go both ways...just like they do here. Many of them are quite interesting.
To me the only question is - is he a true conservative or a convenient conservative?
I think Ted needs to be vetted the same as everyone else.
I like what I hear Trump saying but yes, he has issues. So does Ted - and I don’t take TC’s word for everything because the man is a professional talker and very good at it...I have to look at what he’s done.
This whole season is about making up our minds, a long and arduous process. I lean Trump because of the immigration issue. Can we trust TC on this?
I read the excerpt.
The Communist Tribe make a valid point.
Since we don’t have a military man running, I’ll go with the next best thing: the candidate who has actually defended sovereignty of US law. That’s Ted Cruz.
