From the comments to the article:

In 2012, the pivotal issue was Obama care and we nominated the worst possible candidate to argue the case against it. The author of Romneycare.

So now, with illegal immigration and national sovereignty the premiere issues of 2016, we are flirting with a candidate whose own constitutionally required legal status is in question? Stupid Party indeed!

Or a candidate whose business depends on illegal immigrant labor? With a side project in sending manufacturing overseas?

“So now, with illegal immigration and national sovereignty the premiere issues of 2016, we are flirting with a candidate . . .”

Who recently supported Romneycare and open borders and now supports socialized health care. I am talking about Trump.

Ya know, I’ll be supporting Trump all the way to the White House, but this stuff is just downright stupid.

So we need a game show host who showered praise and money on the Clintons after B Clinton gave the Chinese the missile tech necessary to target the US with nukes.

Got it.

So if I get the gist of this, Cruz was wrong then and I disagreed with him. But he is wrong now and I still disagree with him. So I am a superior being.

This is just hilarious. This primary has really separated the chaff from the wheat. Some anti-constitutional law professor is telling you what the constitution’s original intent is and you run with it because it helps your candidate.

Your candidate: the guy who donated to Clintons, Corey Booker, Terry McAuliffe, Chuck Schumer, and Rahm Emanuel. The guy who said Obama was doing a great job. He said Bill Clinton is a great person. He said Warren Buffet would be on his presidential staff. The guy who sent people to the Playboy Mansion as a reward for winning his reality/game show. The guy who rents apartments to terrorists. The guy who makes fake universities, charges tuition, and never shows up. The guy who buys politicians. The guy who uses his government ties to try to steal old ladies property....

This is the guy you’re hoping wins, and for his benefit, you’re hoping this anti-constitutional law professor’s interpretation will hurt a true conservative.

Since we don’t have a military man running, I’ll go with the next best thing: the candidate who has actually defended sovereignty of US law. That’s Ted Cruz.

More lies and BS.

The Constitution enumerates and specifically vests the authority of the determination for the rules of naturalization (who does and who does not need to be naturalized) with Congress via Article I Section 8.

Congress passed the Naturalization act of 1790, signed by George Washington into law to exercise that authority. Since then, the rules of naturalization have been repealed and replace via various acts of Congress.

Further, the 14th amendment re-established jus soli as justification for citizenship at birth if born on US soil.

All of this is codified in Title 8 section 1401 of the US code. Subsection G qualifies Sen Cruz via his mothers US citizenship as he was at birth.

If this is about the recent news video of Tribe talking about Cruz, his former student, Tribe eviscerates Cruz.

Cruz’s status is not in any doubt. He was a US citizen at birth, and that makes him a natural born citizen.

This is a phony Trumped-up issue.

I do wonder why Lawrence Tribe hates Cruz. There seems to be a deep animosity there. Did Ted beat his former professor in a Supreme Court case?
