Donald Trump Ramps Up Attacks on Ted Cruz’s Eligibility

OTTUMWA, Iowa — Donald J. Trump sharply escalated his rhetoric about Senator Ted Cruz’s eligibility to be president on Saturday, suggesting that because he was born in Canada there were unanswered questions about whether he met the constitutional requirement to be a “natural-born citizen.’’

“You can’t have a person who’s running for office, even though Ted is very glib and he goes out and says ‘Well, I’m a natural-born citizen,’ but the point is you’re not,” Mr. Trump said while campaigning in Clear Lake, Iowa.

Mr. Cruz was born in Calgary, Canada, to an American mother, which automatically conferred American citizenship. Most legal experts agree that satisfies the requirement to be a “natural-born citizen,’’ a term that was not defined by the founders.

Mr. Trump, who began raising questions about Mr. Cruz’s ability to be president earlier in the week, said on Saturday that Mr. Cruz would have to go to court to get a “declaratory judgment” about his eligibility “or you have a candidate who just cannot run.’’ (Mr. Cruz could need a judgment if someone filed a lawsuit to challenge his candidacy and a court agreed to take up the question.)

With polls showing the race in Iowa tightening, and Mr. Cruz leading Mr. Trump by 4 percentage points in a Fox News poll released on Friday, Mr. Trump has returned to an issue that first gained him notoriety years ago when he challenged President Obama’s citizenship.

On Saturday night, before the final stop on a six-day bus tour of Iowa, Mr. Cruz said: “Under longstanding federal law, the child of a U.S. citizen born abroad is a natural-born citizen.”

And, how does this, also, make the majority of general election voters decide to vote for Ted Cruz for ‘16 POTUS, on November ‘16, should Ted Cruz end up as the final GOP choice? The left will do all that they can do to derail Cruz (ditto, any other GOP candidate), even if they have to make things up. Dumb voters and/or ignorant voters are a high percent of total voter numbers, and the left will cheat, too, with dead voters, illegal immigrant pro-leftist voters, voters who will vote from more than one location, scaring off anti-left voters, voting machines which will “vote” for the Democrat, no matter what, activist pro-leftist judges who will overturn voting results that go against the left, all other possible ways of successful cheating by the left... The issue is not whether Cruz is a citizen or not. He is a citizen, he is not a NATURAL BORN CITIZEN. There is a difference, like it or not.

How soon we seem to forget and much to our chagrin that none, zero of those law suits ever made it to trial.

Nobama was compelled to fork over the fake BC due to public pressure, not any law suit.

There won’t be any suit getting to trial regarding Cruz either. Why? Because no one has STANDING. To have STANDING a plantiff must be able show the court that they have BEEN damaged, not maybe they are going to be damaged in the future. Just like nobama, in a legal sense, there is no prior damage (prior to his being sworn in as POTUS) to use for STANDNG.

This 1859 OFFICIAL release from the US Govt was still being quoted by Harvard Law School when Ted Cruz was born!!! So unless there has been some ‘hope & change’ since then in the form of a constitutional amendment, Crus IS NOT constitutionally qualified to be president or vice president.

And FYI, you better go back and reread that 1790 Naturalization Act because you missed the fact that in 1790 and until after WWII, the wives and children of marriages held the citizenship of the husband/father. I guess you missed that part where is says that children of fathers who failed to naturalize could at the age of 21, apply for US citizenship. Of course today, the age is lowered to 18.

Cruz, and most of us, are NATURAL BORN CITIZENS because we were citizens at birth.

Ted Cruz's PARENTS fulfilled ALL those requirements of the law that time, for Ted Cruz to be a "Natural Born Citizen".
Ted Cruz did NOT NEED a Court and a Judge to "Nationalize" him.
