Why Do Republicans Dislike Jeb Bush So Much?
Slate ^ | 1/8/16 | Jim Newell

He's not just losing. He is loathed.

It is not difficult to see why Jeb Bush is losing this presidential election. He is the wrong man in the wrong cycle. Republican primary voters are rewarding passionate, fiery, outsider, "anti-establishment" candidates who paint their visions in broad strokes rather than pesky details. Bush is the very picture of a Republican establishment and his donors the very image of donor-class Republicanism. Though he claims not to be "an expert on the ways of Washington," he is vying to be the third consecutive Republican president named Bush. He is a conservative technocrat animated less by angst and more by, say, education funding models. Anti-immigration sentiment is dominating this primary, and immigration has long been Bush's chief weakness in the primary. He's a bad fit for the 2016 Republican Party, and barring some deus ex machina that switches every current coursing through the Republican primary electorate, he will soon have little rationale for continuing his run.

He is disliked because people do not want a Bush dynasty, his brother having already caused enough harm and paved way for Obama. And he is frantic for amnesty, loves Mexico more than the USA.

Jeb is no more conservative than Obama. And that is why Slate is heartbroken that Jeb is getting nowhere.

Bush’s have become emblematic of the whole GOP-e, that conservatives have become disgusted with, for deceitfully betraying conservatives.

Do these writers have any ability to understand body language? You don’t have to be an expert to see that Jeb is the most angst-ridden candidate we’ve ever had. His body language is awful - slumped and defeated; his eyes are flinty, mean, and dart around like a lizard’s tongue. He’s the worst candidate I’ve ever seen - and I remember Jack Kemp, McCain, Romney and Dole.

I fell off my chair when the author referred to Jebbie as a conservative. A conservative!!!!!!! I stopped there because the author didn’t know his elbow from a hole in the ground

I do not "dislike" Jeb Bush.

That said, I don't like his stances on my 3 of my 5 major issues (secure borders, Second Amendment, and education).

Jeb is FOR...

1. Amnesty for illegal aliens

2. Common Core

and Jeb is WEAK on...

3. 2A (IIRC, Jeb doesn't choose to even own a firearm; AND lied about receiving an award from the NRA)

Three strikes? He's chosen to REMOVE HIMSELF from the field.

.

If I remember correctly, Jebby said he could win the primaries without the conservative base....meaning he could care less about our concerns...so here he is, for now until he goes the way of the Rino_saurs

Don’t forget W’s recent remarks regarding Ted Cruz. That firmly established them as absolute Establishment Republicans that real Republicans now loathe. Jeb gave that award to Hillary and the Bushes are best buddies with Bill which shows a lack of character on their behalf. That’s all I need to know.

Each Bush in the white house brought us farther away from the vibrant conservatism of Reagan.

All of them are now so far from the once great vision of conservatism, the third is the worst, publicly saying he would win the nomination without the conservative base.

After insulting us for so many years, they play with the Clintons as if they are family, plus they say things that show just how far they have come from every day American thinking every week.

It's disheartening what they've done and what they've become. I hate what they've done with a passion, and pity how foolish their legacy will look.
