In a CNN town tall special on Thursday, President Obama said that there are some neighborhoods in America where it is easier and cheaper for kids to purchase guns than books.
“Part of the reason, I think, that this ends up being such a difficult issue, is because people occupy different realities,†he said. “There are a whole bunch of law-abiding citizens who have grown up hunting with their dad or going to the shooting range, and are responsible gun owners, and then there is the reality that there are neighborhoods around the country where it is easier for a 12 or 13-year-old to purchase a gun, and cheaper, than it is for them to get a book.â€

It is cheaper to steal a gun than to buy a book.
A really little bit, even for a quipper. One wonders if he taught logic. Can you imagine him saying in court that he knows of neighborhoods where guns are cheaper than books.

By now he could have motivated children in over 350 elementary schools, middle schools, secondary schools.

Wow. My small city (of 90K) has a library which only has books and perhaps some videos. Which city has guns for loan? Do they have ranges for target practice also?

Picturing in my mind some kid looking all over the neighborhood for a book, and he can’t find any book, so he gets a gun, and becomes a bad guy. /s
