A House panel on Wednesday announced it is opening an investigation into U.S. intelligence collection that may have swept up members of Congress.
The House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence's announcement of the probe comes after a Wall Street Journal report that the U.S. collected information on private exchanges between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and members of Congress during ongoing negotiations for nuclear deal with Iran.

In most cases I’d say yes, but congress are snakes in the grass and they dont want eyes on them. something might come of this. lets hope so. time to clean house. Impeach em all! Let God sort it out.
I am deeply concerned that so few, even here, seem to givvva sh!t.
This may be one of the gravest violations of the Constitution in US history.
ESPECIALLY if any of the information was used for political purposes.
But just the fact that it was gathered and stored is an earthquake.
Gee, another probe. In the Paul Rino House, I’m not terribly optimistic.
1/ Itâs time for some Counterintelligence #realtalk about actual espionage threats to USG in 2015; this is a big deal and WSJ isnât helping.
2/ The âBig 4â CI threats to USG in 2015 are Russia, China, Cuba, and Israel, more or less but not 100% of the time in that order. Not new.
3/ Russia is No 1 CI threat due to excellent HUMINT, solid tradecraft & a strategic sense for deception AKA #provokatsiya USG cannot match.
4/ Russia is also significantly helped by a really solid SIGINT effort, both FSB & GRU, that has lots of skilled personnel. Theyâre good.
5/ Chinese HUMINT isnât all that skilled but itâs a numbers game. Tough to stop. Only upside is theyâre cautious outside the ethnic milieu.
6/ PRC SIGINT isnât as good as the Russians but, again, they have big battalions. Also, their hacking is tough to stop, as OPM+DoD+WH know.
7/ Yes, Cuba really is a CI powerhouse vs USG, as Iâve explained in detail, excellent HUMINT in USA, http://20committee.com/2013/04/28/fidels-secret-friends-in-dc/
8/ Israel has good HUMINT, excellent SIGINT, and loads of chutzpah. They know they have a free hand vs USG. See: http://20committee.com/2012/07/29/friends-from-the-institute/
9/ Israeli HUMINT vs US is persistent+aggressive, arguably most aggressive CI threat we face anywhere. They know they face few consequences.
10/ France is another intel partner that also spies on USG hard. But they follow more rules than Israel does. They respect certain lines.
11/ Iran and KSA are serious CI threats too but not really inside USA (Iran esp). Regionally, a big CI problem, but worldwide not so much.
12/ Bottom line is USG faces many CI threats but only a few countries really target us hard inside our own country. Overseas is different.

Nice. Selective outrage from one committee while another fights furiously to come up with a plan to force tech giants to provide a way decrypt OUR private data so they can spy on us!
Hang ‘em all!!!
Many seem to have given up hope. Obama and his cronies have the goods on Congress and the USSC, through this administration’s subversive activities. Even the FBI is powerless it seems.
The formula is simple:
# of Congressmen who are in the closet
+
# of Congressmen caught committing crimes for which they haven't been prosecuted
+
# of Congressmen accepting campaign donations or plum committee assignments in exchange for votes
= 95% of all Congressmen (+- 5%)
Why do you think republicans have caved so much in this Administration??? Obama administration are using the intel on them. At some point someone will talk after retirement. This is going down as the dirtiest administration ever. That says a lot after Clinton.
The FBI is run by this administration.
PELLA, IOWA - Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) says he trusts Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) director James Comey to conduct a thorough investigation into Hillary Clinton’s private email scandal.
“Strongly-worded letter” Watch
You may actually be right in this case. Surveillance and eavesdropping on us? No big deal. Surveillance of Congress? Now wait a minute!
(Although I fervently believe some of the NSA programs have given Obama the ammunition he needs to get what he wants for years.)
“We didn’t say, ‘Do it,’” one senior U.S. official recalled in an interview with the Journal. “We didn’t say, ‘Don’t do it.”
Juar likw the Nazi’s after WWII, “Vie vas only following orders.”
I’m expecting we will hear lots of loud bull excrement, red meat for the masses, and then nothing.
Call me a cynic.
Like anything will happen.
Another boring, “get my face on camera” hearing.
With these RINOS, seen one hearing, seen them all.
WHO would have DONE that? and WHY?
