Speaking with Fox News host Chris Wallace this weekend, 2016 GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump made a remarkable statement about what he planned for the Department of Education, if and when he becomes president.
"I may cut Department of Education," Trump said. "I believe Common Core is a very bad thing. I believe that we should be -- you know, educating our children from Iowa, from New Hampshire, from South Carolina, from California, from New York. I think that it should be local education."
Many Americans agree, especially as the Department of Education has grown into a massive bureaucracy more focused on indoctrinating students in the Islamic faith and "white privilege" than in actually teaching them things that matter, like, say, literature and math.
Plus, getting rid of the Department of Education would give parents much more power over what their children learn.
However, whether Trump could get actually rid of Common Core, which is his apparent goal, remains to be seen.
As The Daily Caller reporter Blake Neff explained, "While Common Core is promoted indirectly by the Department of Education, it is still adopted individually by state governments, and the federal government does not control it."
Still, it's a very worthwhile goal to consider since many parents are fed-up with Common Core's "one-size-fits-all" approach to education.
Frankly, education is much too important to be mass produced ... and thankfully, most Americans, including Donald Trump, get this.

Good point. Associating dems with sherman.
You really aren't doing your candidate any favor by doing that.
Non-trump supporters are making legitimate campaign comparisons between trump and actual conservative candidates. It isn’t “anti-trump” to make these legitimate comparisons.
LOL... may?
_______________
LOL...at least he doesn’t pander to one audience and then to another? He’s real.
Trump is not a conservative, they all say. Maybe so. But who else is talking about cutting cabinet department? NO ONE. After Education, cut Energy, HUD, Agriculture, Transportation...then prepare for day two.
Ethanol, anyone?
Problem with Cruz, he acts like he may want amnesty for millions of law breakers.

I agree with. The next civil war may very well be between the public unions and the over taxed citizens who are no longer willing to give up everything they earn for the leeches known as”public employee”.
Love it!
Cruz laid out a plan for eliminating five cabinet level departments back in November and talked about it during one of the debates so you are very wrong to say that no candidate other than Trump has talked about cutting cabinet level departments.
Titus 1:6-9 If anyone is above reproach, the husband of one wife, and his children are believers and not open to the charge of debauchery or insubordination. For an overseer, as God's steward, must be above reproach. He must not be arrogant or quick-tempered or a drunkard or violent or greedy for gain, but hospitable, a lover of good, self-controlled, upright, holy, and disciplined. He must hold firm to the trustworthy word as taught, so that he may be able to give instruction in sound doctrine and also to rebuke those who contradict it.
I stand corrected. Thank you.
Cruz is very real. In the audio that has been released of him talking to donors he says almost word for word the same things that he has already said publically. You and Helicondelta need to quit reading your talking points and actually look at the facts.
And your local board.
Your very welcome. Thanks for reading my post.
Then the States must do what the Fed whats just to get it back!
"My position is very simple. I oppose amnesty. I oppose citizenship. I oppose legalization.. Today, tomorrow, forever. I believe in the rule of law."
Here in NJ the taxpayers have conceded defeat, and they are fleeing in droves. The companies that employed them in the past are fleeing as well. This angle to the housing glut here in the northeast is never discussed; the fact is that with today’s diminished standard of living, nobody wants to buy homes in very average neighborhoods with property taxes starting at $10K. Those unions have ensured that increasing shares of today’s taxes are to pay union members who retired years ago.
While liberals push the $15/hour wage for unskilled workers, they conveniently omit the fact that this would never allow those workers to purchase homes in the areas where people need them to prepare their meals (due to those high taxes).
Also the Axis in WWII; forage in someone else’s yard...
