Bozell states that Cruz is the one candidate who will return the United States to "her Constitutional foundations and Judeo-Christian values," explaining:
On every issue of crucial importance to conservatives-defunding Planned Parenthood, ending the Obamacare nightmare, reducing the size of government, opposing amnesty-Cruz is not only with conservatives, he's led the fight for conservatives.
To be honest, if these were the only issues under discussion in this GOP presidential primary season I would hardly be able to make myself pay attention. It's not that they are unimportant issues. Personally, I support every one of them. But they are not existential issues.
...
As Trump makes clear, our country's representatives have no clue. Worse, they seem content to remain in ignorance no matter how many Americans die, no matter how far sharia spreads. Not Trump. When you think about it, his call for a Muslim immigration moratorium is really a no-brainer - but whose "politically correct" brain is capable even of thinking of it, let alone calling for it out loud? I regret to say that Sen. Cruz does not support Trump's moratorium, deferring instead to a rosier vision of Islam and immigration screening both in order, politely, to reject it.
That's too bad, but so it goes, further testament to the fearless, agenda-setting powers of Trump. It's really quite incredible: soon, maybe even before it's too late, GOP primary voters will have a clear choice on walls, borders, immigration, even Islamic immigration (and, I would hope, the related issue of Islamic law), all because Donald Trump plucked these crucial issues from the void where the politicians, including good conservatives, have been eager to leave them.
Go Trump!

Go Trump!!
The ONLY candidate NOT owned by amnesty supporting PACs and donors.
I don't know where you got that idea, I said Cruz was acceptable but I prefer Trump. Jeezz. My acceptable list is Trump, Cruz and Paul. All others need not apply.
“Ted Cruz is a fringe Establishment candidate ...”
In what universe? Establishment? Really? Ugh.
Yup. Trump is as rich as Soros and Al Gore and the guy who started Facebook, so heâs beholden to noone.
“...It seems you and Cruz conveniently overlook the wording here - citizens, i.e. plural, i.e. children of two citizens of the United States. NOT one citizen, two...”
If it is to be a semantical argument, it could be argued that the absence of the word “both” is every bit as significant. Otherwise, we just have to take it as written in that more than one citizen could be expected to travel “outside the limits” and they wrote (gramatically correct) “citizens”.
He says he wants to focus on the threat - 3 year moratorium on all refugees from affected areas, etc.Thinking folks don't knee-jerk without.....thinking (or donating to the causes they claim to espouse.....)
Now for a short public service announcement to all on FR:
We need to ensure we don't get another Obama-like America Hater as the next President.
The best way to ensure that is to actively support a candidate as the next President.
I prefer Cruz and my money goes to his campaign, hence the Cruz link. If you like someone else, donate to him/her (find your own link to do it) and if you use FR and don't donate, then please don't complain about the welfare leeches or those who have Obama Phones because, functionally, you are no different than any other who enjoys the fruits of others' work for your own benefit.
PS - If you are one of those who cannot afford even a small donation to FR or a candidate, God Bless and happy FReeping!.....
GO CRUZ!! Keep it up Trump!!
“...But Trump is as rich as Soros and Al Gore, so heâs beholden to noone...”
Now that is a good point.
Cruz has caused no end of grief to the gop establishment, so he is not beholden to them.
Guess what? I’m still here. Having a nice day. On a FR thread.
Sounds like a wealth envying, DU post.
No thanks.
Guess what? We realize you have nothing better to do. (No CRuz thread to tout your guy.)
No. I was simply pointing out that wealthy people like Trump are beholden to nobody, and so we should place our faith in them. Trump’s wealth makes him trustworthy. He can’t be bought.
“...I don’t know where you got that idea...”
I don’t know that you do and I apologize if that’s how you took it — I was just giving examples of general arguments for/against a candidate. My main point was that if you are going to claim Cruz is less acceptable as a lawyer who changes positions according to the political winds while indicating Trump is more acceptable because of that — I was pointing out that Trumps political position changes makes your point a bit hypocritical. That’s all.
Good Luck With Trump!
You have a point but as a politician Trump has been consistent. As a businessman not so much. But since he is now strictly a politician I can over look some of the positions he took doing business in the Rat owned city/state of New York. Survival is a powerful motivator.
Also, I don’t personally know of later federal legislation that addresses NBC specifically.
Then again, if we are looking for the *intent* of the founders regarding NBC, the “Naturalization Act of 1790” gives us a healthy look.
Consider that (for sake of argument) if 0bama and the dems redefine NBC today to include muslim immigrants (Heaven forbid!), I would not consider that as aligned with the intent of the founding fathers. It might be legally valid, but I wouldn’t consider it in agreement with original intent.
Amen. We have the same list...Trump, Cruz, and Paul. I approached this election not from the standpoint of whom I wanted, but whom I did NOT want to advance. I like almost all of Paul’s positions, but this may be the wrong place to bring him up...on an immigration thread. That seems to be his weak area based on the comments of most FReepers.
yeah, the little things have piled up for you on one side while you ignore the massive cooties on the other.....you keep going girl!! you’ll be sorry one day....
It's not...she's a childish vindictive writer, who's made enemies of a lot of good people.
Plenty of threads, either way. I’ll post as I please, just as you do.
“...I can over look some of the positions he took doing business in the Rat owned city/state of New York. Survival is a powerful motivator...”
I also cut him *significant* slack as “The Dealmaker”. He does what he has to do to close the deal and further his business. After all, he is known as “The Dealmaker”, and not a “My Way or the Highway” businessman.
By the same token, he can not author, pass & sign legislation on his own. He will, by necessity, have to negotiate with congress to further his agenda. He has yet to say what, if anything, he considered non-negotiable — that he will never put on the table (ie, would he negotiate further regulation of firearms in trade for border security funding?).
Ted Cruz understands the legislative “sausage-making” process, much to the consternation of the gop establishment. Cruz has my vote in the primary. In the general, the gop candidate has my vote, which is looking like either Trump or Cruz.
Dobson should aspire to Schlafley’s Conservative credentials in some future lifetime.
She’s for Trump. I could care less who what’s his name has settled on.
