Trump Threatens 35% Tax on Ford if Mexico Operations Expand
Mustang 360 ^ | 12/23/2015 | John Gilbert

It was the Detroit News headline "Trump goes after Ford Motor Co." not how long Hillary went overtime in the restroom that got our attention. Donald Trump made a whistle stop outside Grand Rapids, Michigan to take aim at Ford’s plans to expand production in Mexico. Trump promised if elected he would threaten manufacturers with big tariffs on imports to discourage building manufacturing plants south of the border.

Trump to Ford, "If you build that plant in Mexico, I’m going to charge you 35 percent on every car, truck part that you send into our country," he said. "Every single one." Trump went further saying he would engage in tough negotiations with car companies to build new plants in the US and Michigan. Political analysts say Trump’s proposal would at the very minimum require congressional approval and possibly violate NAFTA.

I guess the Chinese are idiots for essentially doing the same thing by devaluating their currency to boost imports and protect their industries. They protect their industries and have overtaken the U.S. as a manufacturing powerhouse? Please give me another free-traitor rant that explains otherwise.

A few years back in the big controversy between ranchers and the federal government about grazing on federal land, Oprah went on a big anti-beef campaign.

High corporate taxes and excessive regulation and environmentalism cause American manufacturers to have to pass those costs to the consumer or their business partners. Chinese manufacturers don't have these high costs, therefore consumers and downstream businesses prefer the lower prices of the Chinese driving American manufacturers out of business. Shrieking idiots such as yourself say "we need tariffs!" instead of addressing the root of the problem which is high taxes and excessive regulation. High tariffs would just add more cost to American products driving even more manufacturers out of business. It's you commies, posing as protectionists, as dragnet2 admitted earlier on this thread he is in fact an anticapitalist, that are the traitors.

We call commies posing as environmentalists "watermelons". We need a name for commies and anticapitalists posing as protectionists.

Lol She was sticking up for her homeboy Obama. I'm sure she eats that great Japanese Kobe beef while she campaigns to put our ranchers out of business.

He has already affected Ford’s operations. Ford was ready to move a truck operation to Mexico, but when Trump said what he did, they announced they’re leaving it in the U.S.

No word yet on the proposed $2.5 Billion plant they were planning to build in Mexico.

Trump is THE ONLY candidate adressing the corporate inversion issue.

A GOOD point.

If Trump ISN'T elected very little will change.

Give me that even tempered Cruz who understands the constitution.

Sorry to say.. Cruz may understand the Constitution but he has gotten NOWHERE in the Senate with his tactics over the past 3 years.

He has been thwarted and "kneecapped" at every turn by the GOPe.
