What if Trump wins the presidency with Cruz as VP and they make the VP sideline job of President of the Senate a REAL job? For example, what if they make Cruz the real boss of the senate and bump McConnell down a peg or two?
All well and fine but won’t get him confirmed.
Crispy Creme as AG ? The same asshat who doesn’t consider illegals in the U.S. as breaking the law ? He’s also weak on the 2nd Amendment to boot.
Webb and McQueeg are both scum and have no business holding any office.
So you prefer Hillary to Trump ?
Your numbers are off!
I do not think Trump can beat Hillary - he does not know enough about how government works or know about the middle east countries and their leaders and the various conflicts over there to beat Hillary. All Trump does is use personal attacks against his opponents and he will do that in debates with her and look like a fool (as he does now at times).
I do think our conservative candidate Cruz has the ground work covered in most counties of the US to beat Trump and I do know Cruz will destroy Clinton in debates. I pray it happens.
Amen.
You mean Trump will tell the truth on her, something RINOs have been terrified of doing for decades. I’m sick to death of wimps who want to lose, and that’s all we’ve been getting from the party.
“Can a Vice President take his proper role as âTheâ Senate President? Or, is the VP always relegated to second fiddle to the President Pro Tempore?”
The Vice President, as leader of the Senate, can only vote when there is a tie vote.
“I do not think Trump can beat Hillary - he does not know enough about how government works or know about the middle east countries and their leaders and the various conflicts over there to beat Hillary. “
DON’T underestimate Trump.
Remember ANCHOR BABIES!
Remember BANNING MUSLIMS!
Everyone said it was un-constitutional but they were wrong and he was right.
Why would she have to be vp candidate to say things about The Beast? She’s doing that now.
No. She reminds me of my 1st wife....
If he was Senate President and after Ryan goes Speaker of the House and after Roberts goes Chief Justice of the Supreme Court—all at the same time—that would be more powerful than just President.
Works for me
I don’t prefer Hillary to anyone except possibly Lucifer himself. However, the last 3 times we ran a progressive (Dole, McCain and Romney), we lost.* After that third attempt of nominating a progressive failed, many of us decided we were done voting for progressives. And just because this particular progressive isn’t an Establishment progressive, doesn’t mean he’s not a progressive. In fact, I think he’s less constrained by our Constitution than almost anyone running for the GOP nomination. I’m confused, embarrassed, horrified, flummoxed, disappointed and sometimes even speechless that this individual is in the running, let alone garnering such energetic support (that often borders on frenzied). It’s especially tragic when we have a rare, golden opportunity to elect a true Constitutional conservative who had proved he has the huevos to stand up to the GOPe leaders regardless of the cost.
*I’m not saying that Bush didn’t turn out to be more progressive than we first thought, but he was convincingly conservative when we first elected him and was far a better person to have as POTUS than Gore after 9-11.
Just going by the Quinnipiac numbers, but even if there were only 2 of us, I’d still be embarrassed.
In the event of a 50-50 split (which actually is rather likely after 2016), the VP could become important, but Cruz has made so many enemies in the GOP caucus it's unlikely that he could become a person of influence.
Much better for him (and us) to replace Ruth Bader Ginsburg on the court when she dies or resigns. There, he can sit for forty years, not worry abut pissing people off, and use his skills as a debater and constitutional expert to best effect.
Trump is going to need an ambassador to Congress when he's sworn in, and Cruz is just not that guy.
Uh, the leaders are picked by the Members.
Your words are painfully true. Passing up Cruz for Trump would be like shooting ourselves in the foot. That we could possibly miss this rare opportunity makes me want to cry. LOUDLY. So loudly, that they'd hear me in the next county.
Hear! Hear!
Cruz 2016
