On Monday, Weekly Standard editor-in-chief Bill Kristol tweeted out what the rest of the Republican establishment is thinking: better Hillary than Donald. Hereâs the tweet:
Crowd-sourcing: Name of the new party weâll have to start if Trump wins the GOP nomination? Suggestions welcome at editor@weeklystandard.com
â Bill Kristol (@BillKristol) December 20, 2015
Kristol isnât alone. As I wrote at Daily Wire today, Politicoâs Jeff Greenfield says, âIf the operatives I talked with are right, Trump running as a Republican could well face a third-party run â from the Republicans themselves.â That follows last Thursdayâs Politico column from former New Jersey governor Christine Todd Whitman, who compared Trump to Hitler and called him âevil,â and last Wednesdayâs Politico column reporting that Jeb Bushâs aides âbegan looking into the possibility of making a clear break with Trump â potentially with the candidate stating that, if Trump were the nominee, Bush would not support him.â

Sounds like the liberal progressive republicans are frustrated conservatism is pushing them aside. Damn, just gotta hate those conservative principals.
Globalist Party?
No. For the most part we hold our noses and vote for the GOPe patsy of the hour .
Tax and Spend Party?
I fail to see a problem. :)
Never Ending War Party?
If the GOPe actually feared Hillary winning, why would they consider a 3rd party if Trump won the primaries - unless they want to help Hillary win?
Could it be that Jeb (or a proxy RINO) was GOPe’s 2016 version of their designated loser to (a la McCain/Romney) guarantee Hillary the White House? Was it Trump's candidacy that upset the GOPe's ruse to guarantee Hillary the White House?
Note the backstabbing punk Rob Portman on the left. He took $100,000 in donations from Ohioans and gave it to Thad Cochran to help fund the “get out the (liberal) vote” in the June run-off against McDaniel.
Never again. I know Rob. I’ve had lunch with him. I’ve introduced him at conferences. I’ve campaigned for him. I’ve canvassed for him. I’ve volunteered as a poll runner and phone bank caller for him. I’ve given him money-a lot of it.
That particular knife to the back was fatal regarding my ever supporting that man.
Never again. Not one penny of mine. Not one second of my time. NEVER my vote. Never again.
How about a little common sense here? The GOPe ran YEB! and he’s polling at 3%.
So when Trump gets the nomination, if the GOPe cobbles together a 3rd Party to run YEB! or Carly or anyone else; by what magic trick will they get anybody to pay any more attention to them than they do now? And by what powers of persuasion will they get more than 3% to actually VOTE for him or her, or whoever?
Strikes me as an exercize in futility.
Kristol is another David Frum RINO/lib.
He can join Hillary for all I care.
“We?”
And anyway, Cruz will build a wall. Cruz is a real conservative who will build a wall. Trump is a liberal who says he’ll build a wall.
I’m for building a wall. So is Cruz.
Oh little Billy, that’s cute... But WE are the ones forcing YOU to start your own party - and this process started years ago.
Kristol is an undeclared Democrat;
another reason America has gone down the tubes
with Kristol’s beloved Obama and Hillary.
I am a Cruz guy 100% However, if Trump winning would cause a fracturing of the party and cause the RINOs to leave it, I would consider switching my support.
People who talk about liberty, free markets and small government and then chicken out once the election is over are not helpful and don’t need to be in our party. They can be a moderating force in the Democrat party if they want to continue in government.
Good riddance.
