Will Republicans FINALLY Talk About Gun Control For Real During The Fifth Republican Debate?

Though presidential candidates' Twitter feeds have been littered with calls for prayers after the multiple mass shootings these past few weeks, it's anyone's guess as to whether Republicans will finally talk about gun control in substance come Tuesday's debate. The conservative candidates have been notorious for skirting the topic, choosing to back their NRA interests over rigorous debate. But with the Planned Parenthood and San Bernardino shootings happening within just days of one another, will the Republican candidates finally take aim at gun control?

Their past record of doing so has been weak.

It's about time that one of the can'tidates stands up and says he is sick and tired of the extremist radical left wing anti-constitutinalist, animating inanimate objects and blaming law abiding citizens for crimes they aren't responsible for and trying to subjugate the rights guaranteed by the bill of rights. Not given, guaranteed. Thus, any U.S. citizen who wishes to carry a firearm is permitted to do so without interference from local or federal law enforcement. How would that suit you mx. cruz. Better have the smelling salts handy.

The fact that these candidates have blood on their hands seems to not faze them.

I stopped reading at that point. Melissa's question boils down to "why don't the Republicans talk about the issues important to people who will never vote for them?" The question answers itself.

Gun control is a complex topic that requires a great deal of attention to get right.

A shooter must simultaneously master trigger control, sight picture, breath control, and follow through. I’d like to see the debate put more emphasis on those fundamentals, and especially on removing all legislative impediments to applying those skills. Then the next time some Obama voter decides to initiate workplace violence while yelling religious phrases in Arabic, real Americans will have more options than just cowering until they are dead.
