Real-estate mogul Donald Trump contrasted his own "evangelical" beliefs with US Sen. Ted Cruz's (R-Texas) religious beliefs at a Friday-night campaign rally.
"I am an evangelical. I'm a Christian. I'm a Presbyterian," Trump said, speaking in Des Moines, Iowa.
The Republican presidential front-runner then highlighted the fact that Cruz's father is Cuban.
"We're doing really well with the evangelicals," he continued. "And by the way, and again, I do like Ted Cruz, but not a lot of evangelicals come out of Cuba, in all fairness. It's true. Not a lot come out. But I like him nevertheless."

You are probably right. This time his schedule is pretty tight.
Nice.
Let’s leave pretty boy out of this. It’s kinda disgusting.
To be honest, I do not go around advertising about whether I have asked God for forgiveness - that is something between God (The Holy Trinity), my priest (who represents Christ), and myself. Frankly, I would be rather annoyed at anybody who made such an inquiry of me - because it is a deeply personal matter and not the business of any other, save the aforementioned. Had Luntz asked me that question, I would have responded “Nunya” - as in Nunya business!
I think that fact that so many here look to make issue with this statement by Trump, says more about them than about Mr. Trump - or any other candidate, for that matter.
There are some things that respectful people, total strangers, do not ask of another - and this is definitely one. Just my opinion.
Nope
I know but since he is running for president we can't leave Trump out of this.
Trump certainly did not hurt himself in Iowa tonight. Totally the opposite.
I think your opinion about this is spot on.
Rather than go into the few instances where Donald erred, and eventually corrected himself
And lastly, you should never put stock in a what a candidate SAYS, you should put stock in that they DO.
Has any other candidate voted correctly on more bills than Cruz? Is that not action? Rubio talked a great game to get elected and his actions proved him to be a RINO. Cruz doesn’t have that moniker.
What has Trump done to advance a conservative agenda? Not words, actions? He can drum up a crowd and tell them what they want to hear. That’s a homerun?
Well, you’re not leaving Trump out of anything.
Most don’t know who he is. They will.
> “He has erred on every single issue of importance for the better part of his life ...”
Start listing them and be prepared to take fire. Otherwise, go away.
Definitely. Most will know who Trump is. Hopefully sooner than later.
He came across a bit different today.
I’ve been watching him and he seems to now be reaching for that ring.
I don’t mind it at all. Obama has transformed the USA into a nation with no compass and no moral guidance whatsoever.
It is as if Satan himself were to guide the people.
I think Trump is sick of it. He isn’t perfect but Satan does NOT want him in charge.
I need some discipline back to the Country I know.
I agree.
I did not ask Trump the question. He volunteered the information. He had no obligation to answer. If he felt it was too private to talk about, he could have chosen not to talk about it. But he did, and his words are part of the public record, which means the public is free to respond to them as they see fit. It doesn’t help him with evangelicals. Again, it is what it is.
Peace,
SR
“According to the Houston Chron, Cruz has gotten big bucks up to $25 million dollars to fund his campaign and his Super Pacs from the oil and gas industry while at the same time saying he wants to end oil subsidies...)
IIRC, only small independent producers receive any form of government subsidy (in the absolute definition of the term) so to cover their exploratory / start up costs.
If Cruz is stating his desire to end “oil subsidies,” then he is in danger of giving the appearance of parroting Obama’s crusade against oil production.

At least I’m not fantasizing about the things you are.
I haven’t seen the movie, but I know the content. And it’s amazing me a Cruz supporter would be fantasizing about homosexual subject matter in relation to other men.
You’re quite the stellar individual yourself there bud.
“Well, I’m not a candidate for POTUS - but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express!” (Sorry, could not resist!)
No he wasn’t, but then we don’t focus on some things that weren’t the zenith of his administration. Reagan did the best he could.
I will also say that he was failed by his field commander there too. I can’t imagine a guy setting up a situation where a truck could drive right up to the building for detonation.
Duh to the X.
I was kinda thinkin' the same thing DoughtyOne.
If starstruck represents Cruz as a member of his constituency then Cruz might want to send him a "cease & desist" order.
He might also consider reading "How to win friends & influence people" before defending his candidate.
