"....Ted Cruz's remarks, which the Times published a five-minute clip of on Thursday, were nowhere near as campaign-shattering as Romney's. The clip did, however, provide some insight into Cruz's thinking about the race and, notably, Donald Trump. The Texas senator has been noticeably reluctant to criticize his flame-throwing rival in the hopes of picking up his supporters when the flames ultimately engulf Trump's campaign. If that was his implied campaign strategy, Cruz says it explicitly to the crowd gathered at a Madison Avenue office.
Here's some of what Cruz had to say about Trump and Carson (via the Times):
>>>I like and respect both Donald and Ben. I do not believe either one is going to be our nominee. I don't believe either one is going to be our president. I think both of them, their campaigns have a natural arc. And with both of them I think gravity is pulling them down... Carson is further in that descent. You look at Paris, you look at San Bernardino, it's given a seriousness to this race, that people are looking for: Who is prepared to be a commander in chief? Who understands the threats we face? Who am I comfortable having their finger on the button? Now that's a question of strength, but it's also a question of judgment. And I think that is a question that is a challenging question for both of them. So my approach, much to the frustration of the media has been to bear hug both of them, and smother them with love. People run as who they are. I believe gravity will bring both of those campaigns down, I think the lion's share of their supporters come to us.<<<

I wonder why Ted does the kelly file. megyn tends to skewer him.
Sure, you’re welcome.
What on earth has happened to you? You're like a completely different person from the one I was good friends with.
Oh she was mostly kissing his arse tonight.
I posted the link to the 6 minute video because I WANT it to be heard verbatim, “deary,” so that your wrong characterization is confronted and exposed for the spin that it is.
But you chose to cherry-pick a certain portion and write that all out; didums.
FYI, I'm a Trump supporter. I follow Reagan's Rule. I'd like Cruz to be Trump's VP. Pissing on Cruz is not helpful.
He is asking people to donate money and giving them his strategy-SO WHAT.
You want him to tell the people he's asking to back him -that he's the same as all the others and doesn't know if he can win or not? Really?
I'd like to know who made the recording and released it?
Where did they come from-GOPe? Jeb? Trump?
It would quite educational to know which campaign they came from.
I thought this was about nothing when I first read about it.
Now that I've heard the tape:
It's about less than nothing.
I'm not too worked up about this one either. Cruz has a right to have a strategy for crying out loud, and he still isn't saying anything bad about Trump.
Trump should save the big guns for later, although he could make a crack about "gravity" in his next speech LOL
I excerpted the text copy at the source - the teaser - that is below the linked video and added this [and identified it as from the interview]: "Obama said, 'Christians and Jews kill people too.'......"
You are correct that I did not transcribe the entire 6 minute exchange. I didn't think I had too. Kelly's questions and Cruz's answers are toward the end of the 6 minute interview and it's worth the time.
There’s a tape of him saying what hes said and I just replayed it as well and he is using weasel words and squirming.
I meant that you should have quoted what was relevant; not the beginning of the whole 6 minutes. But that isn't your style, I guess.
He simply implies he believes their popularity will naturally wane with time when trust, faith, and confidence in their abilities to be the commander in chief are considered.
Plotting a candidate’s popularity along a scale of time produces an arc, similar to a projectile’s trajectory over time as gravity takes over.
What do you find wrong in his statement?
The link to the six minute segment was provided in post #26. Freepers can watch it themselves and see how delusional you are.
I thought it lovely what Cruz said. Imagine what Trump’s meetings are full-of swearing and cutting everyone down.
âOne of the first things Iâd do in terms of executive order if I win would be to sign a strong, strong statement that will go out to the country, out to the world, that anybody caught killing a policeman, policewoman, police officer â anybody killing a police officer: death penalty,â Trump said to loud applause. âItâs gonna happen. OK? We canât let this go.â

And the police union endorsed him.
lolol.. First shoot out. Are you sure the man won’t take the whiny baby?
Be my guest, no one's stopping you - transcribe it.
Are you seeing it through Trump’s eyes? Cause I didn’t get that at all. I watched it.
Trump: Everybody loves me. Don't you feel all the love in this place. Even Cruz loves me. He wants to smother me with love. You heard him yesterday. He said THAT!
