"I don't care."
That was Mr. Trump's response to the outcry from the mainstream news media, Democrats and Republican presidential candidates over his call to halt the influx of Muslims into the United States.
Mr. Trump was roundly criticized, as expected, by Hillary Clinton, Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont, Martin O'Malley and other Democrats. The mayor of St. Petersburg, Fla., a Democrat, tweeted that he was barring Mr. Trump from his city.
Republicans such as Gov. Chris Christie of New Jersey, Jeb Bush and Gov. John R. Kasich of Ohio condemned Mr. Trump. So did the chairs of the Republican parties of three key early-voting states--Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina. The former vice president, Dick Cheney, said Mr. Trump's proposal "goes against everything we stand for," though former President George W. Bush has not commented publicly. Senators Ted Cruz of Texas and Marco Rubio of Florida disavowed the proposal, but in brief; Mr. Cruz has suggested limiting the influx of refugees from countries with terrorist presences.
But if Mr. Trump didn't care about the response, neither did his supporters, based on initial reports. Some of his supporters in South Carolina told CNN that they were fine with his proposal, since their concern is terrorism and what they see as the Obama administration's paltry response.

Who believes that Moslems won’t commit mass murder here again soon? And, we have no idea which ones will do it.
There is no continuing organized outcry from Moslems against
‘’Radical’’ Moslem. Just quiet acquiecence.
Donald is right.
I notice tgere wasn’t an outcry amoung the voting public...just the usual traitors.
How would a mayor of a city go about banning an individual from visiting that city? I need help with that one.
There is nothing wrong with “being bigoted” against a faction that has sworn to kill us all.
This no more bigoted than hating the nazis.
Liberals just can’t seem to identify our enemies, political correctness clouds their judgement, and listening to them is going to get us all killed.
neither does bArry S Sotero, but he has accomplices to help him hold the line.
This may be a great strategic way for Trump to take out the trash in the republican primary, leaving Cruz relatively unscathed,if you are among the many who think Trump is paving the way for a Cruz victory.
This idiotic idea most of the offended Repub candidates espoused on ABC doesn’t take into account that all members of the world are not automatically given American rights if they can just make it here.
I predict you will be pleasantly surprised.
Tolerance of Intolerance is cowardice - Ayaan Hirsi Ali (ex muslim who had her clitoris cut off by the religion of peace)
The media never lie because they never speak of what’s real but only what’s in their script.
This lying is especially infuriating.
Trump should schedule a rally there, pronto.
——For the rest Muslim feelings come on top.-——
Regarding the rest, I would argue the rest are more afraid of how they will be perceived if they don’t put the perception of putting Muslim feelings on top than they are of being killed.
It is about the personal self esteem of the rest
Bill O fancies himself as king-maker/breaker.
His The Spin Stops Here is a farce.
There was someone on Hannity last night from the “Ex-Muslims” Society or something...hope he has bodyguards
The usual idiots on CNN and elsewhere immediatley applied Trumps comments to U.S. citizens...which has NOTHING to do with what Trump said.
You really stated something that lots of people are thinking & that is: even people who do not care for Trump ( I am excluding the ones who absolutely despise him) are, I think, flabbergasted at his NOT apologizing. Like you said we are used to every politician apologizing profusely, often to the point of making a complete ass of themselves......Martin O’ Malley will be the poster boy king for a long time on that front.......so it is absolutely shocking & yes, exciting when someone states something & refuses to back down. It’s that rare.
Don’t get me wrong, I think if you truly misspeak an apology is a good thing. We’ve all done it, but people are absolutely tired to the bone of spine free politicians. So yes, it’s like the thrill we all get when someone bucks the system & means it.
heard one idiot guy today say about that.
Even asking that question just shows how dumb some people are as it had nothing to do with what Trump said.
Still you cannot educate the ignorant
When Trump entered the race I didn’t pay any attention to him either but after his speech on illegal immigration in Arizona I decided to do a little research.
I read 3 of his books starting with “Time to Get Tough - Make America Great Again” and I was sold.
The book was published in 2011 and he basically said the same things in it that he is saying now.
Through the three books and other reading I learned about his family background and where he came from and it solidified my support for him.
He is not the typical conservative in that he is not an ideologue but he has lead his life with a conservative base.
I hope you will do some research on your own and not just take the word of what some others say about him before making any decisions.
The one-worlders and their media allies are wetting themselves all over the place.
He has baited some of his competition as well.
Give it a few days and the anti-Trump forces will be in cardiac meltdown...especially if (God forbid) another mass attack here on in a big target in the West. They will be all WEE-WEE'D UP!
Islam is not a religion to ever be compared to Christianity. Letâs understand why they want to come here. Look at their push for sharia law. Dearborn MI for example. They donât want to become Americans, they want us to become THEM or die. They come here to change and take over our country... why would we let them in to do this?? Under the guise of religion, the enemy that would destroy us, is welcomed into our midst.
They canât vet them. They donât know who they are. Political correctness and a man named obama, is our enemy in all this. The GOP gates are down, the border is open.. come on in.. âweâ are not smart enough to know what the heck âweâ are doing. Not until itâs too late... and even then, itâs someone elseâs fault.
