Donald Trump remains the clear Republican front-runner across the nation, and is defying the predictions of pundits again by gaining steam less than two months before the Iowa caucuses, according to a new poll.
Quinnipiac University's latest survey of Republican voters finds the billionaire businessman has risen 3 percentage points since early November and now stands at 27 percent.
Trump's bump comes after GOP strategists and members of the media speculated that his widely-disputed claim that "thousands" of Muslim-Americans celebrated the Sept. 11 attacks could create trouble for him in the polls, particularly with fellow Republican contenders Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio on rising swiftly.
"It doesn't seem to matter what he says or who he offends, whether the facts are contested or the 'political correctness' is challenged, Donald Trump seems to be wearing Kevlar," Tim Malloy, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute, said in a statement Wednesday.

Not the working class Democrats I work construction with. They are planning to come out in full force if Trump gets the nod. They think he’s just doing it because he likes the cheering crowds, and his comments on McCain — a working class democrat’s favorite Republican — were a big problem for them. (They all say they would have voted McCain if it hadn’t been for Governor Palin.) But of course this is not a scientific sample.
The 10% or so undecided voters are the stupidest voters, and paradoxically they are generally who all the millions of campaign dollars are meant to sway. Because they are swayable and decide elections. Have to think there has probably never been a candidate who would seem to have such a leg up with all the image recognition on reality TV and things like pro wrestling.

By calling DT a liar the MSM (and democrats) basically called the people of NJ and NYC whose friends and family also witnessed the anti American behavior. Don’t be surprised if Trump carries the NYC and NJ “liberals “. It was their families and friends massacred by the “religion of pieces”
Local CBS report on Muslims celebrating on rooftop. Not thousands but celebrating.
Not only celebrating but apparently knew ahead of time that the plane crashes would happen and were waiting, binoculars in hand.
I’m sure I saw celebrations, IIRC it was in Dearborn though.
I remember going to Logan airport months before 911 to pickup friends. Leaving the airport parking lot, the gate attendant asked me to back up my car slightly. They were photographing every vehicle leaving the parking deck. I thought it was slightly odd at the time. Now I think the government knew something was brewing, but didn't know the right details.
And a good president.
Spot on. Reagan did NOT need the media or other politicians.
He connected directly to the people when he spoke to them.
Trump is the same.
GO TRUMP GO
You want to see them Really pissed with exploded heads?!
Then proffer this:
Trump has the cojones to do something like this: "Hey, I'm gonna' get the nomination. I want to say ahead of time that when I get the nomination my first announcement right out of the gate will be to announce Sarah Palin as my Vice President pick. Anyone gotta' problem with that?"
Popcorn for 24 hours or until I'm sick. I would have trouble switching channels seeing all the heads explode. Trump's poll numbers would immediately go above 50%. Trump Hillary poll would be 70%/30%. One can dream. .
Nice dream!
B U M P
As opposed to the Flubber President Obama.
Things don’t just slide off Obama, they bounce off and accelerate in the opposite direction.
Ta-ra-ra boom-de-ay!!
GO TRUMP GO CRUZ! ~ YOU WIN OR WE LOSE!!
You are all wet with your analysis because any politician gaining national standing becomes a de facto celebrity. Look at Sarah Palin - she gets mobbed wherever she goes by autograph seekers but alas, she did not get elected, much to our eternal regret.
ANYONE that supports John McCain is not thinking. He is an Ethically and Morally compromised man.
I think he has a leg up with folks who might not pay attention to politics normally, but watch that reality stuff and wrestling. I bet his name recognition is way higher than Palin’s among that set. Hey no sweat, I could be wrong or all wet or whatever too.

He has been VERY LUCKY to have avoided the issue so far.
