Donald Trumpâs claim that he saw âthousands and thousands of peopleâ in New Jersey cheering the destruction of the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001, has been refuted by police, elected officials, religious leaders, fact-checkers and the media â and, now, the mayor of New York City on 9/11: Rudy Giuliani.
âWe did have some celebrating â that is true,â Giuliani said on CNNâs âNew Dayâ on Tuesday. âWe had some pockets of celebrating.â
How many pockets?
âTen. Twelve? Thirty. Forty,â Giuliani recalled. âWe had one situation in which a candy store owned by a Muslim family was celebrating that day, right near a housing development. And the kids in the housing development came in and beat them up.â

Rudy was New Yorks mayor, this happened in New Jersey, he would only have second hand info.
But the Jersey newspapers printed it. Lots of witnesses, police report confirms 2 were arrested. Washington paper reported same.
I think Trump should sue, his list of witnesses and sources will shove this down the media’s throat.
The news media is guilty of exaggerating crowd estimates all the time and are never called on it. Every time there are protesters for some liberal cause the cameras are always given close up shots to make the crowd look larger then it really is. then when it is a conservative cause the cameras pan out to make the crowd look small. The media in this country is learning to manipulate the news better than Pravda.
Yahoo News is utter crap.
Guiliani was confirming Trump’s statements - he simply said he didn’t know one way or the other if the numbers of protestors was in the thousands.
Out of ALL the Muslims in this country, it’s not at all hard to believe that a thousand, or even thousands, were maybe not *celebrating* per-se, but certainly taking satisfaction in the attack. Heck, it’s even easy to believe there were many libtards in our country who took smug pleasure in the attacks, even going so far as to say ‘we’ deserved it. But as usual, the Uniparty controlled media will do all that they can to smear those who refuse to march to their drum beat on the road to socialism and a global governance.
Indeed. The whores in the media can lie and make up stories just like Dear Leader.
Blatant lying headlines are still blatant lies.
Clearly, the muslims had a “million man celebration.”
I don't know of anyone who took a headcount but on 9-11 there were enough out in the streets in Patterson NJ that folks were sent home and streets were closed off. This crap went on for days.
Exactly.
I'd bet my life on it that they celebrated at the Kremlin as well, and conceivably even known about it ahead of time.
I’m so fed up with Yahoo. Unfortunately, they are very useful in spreading left wing propaganda. So many people with Yahoo email addresses that only see the news headlines that Yahoo provides when checking their email. I wish there would be an organized widespread boycott threat to Yahoo.
Your user name is one of my all time favorite songs.
After 9/11 Trump led an effort to gas Palestinian children, homosexuals and cripples and shove them all in ovens - some not quite dead. But as Trump then said, "That's what pitchforks are for!"
Guilani only had an issue with the total number. not with Trump saying there were celebrations.
Trump said thousands, and maybe it was not that high.
As for the mayor, he had more important matters on his mind from the morning of 9/11/01 onward.
So let’s play a math game. If there are 100 people who corroborate the story that this happened, and if it was only 10 people in each instance and these were separate instances...guess how many that equals? 1,000. Take it from there. This is ridiculous.
You doubt that a million black men marched on Washington, DC?
Good. So do I.
White Men Can't Jump.
Black Men Can't Count.
Media lying about what Rudy said.
For Yahoo, “partially corroborates” = “refutes.”
All the time, I hear liberals say that the Inquisition killed “millions” of people, whereas the figure is more like 8-20 thousand, over a very long period of time. Nothing to be proud of, but far short of “millions.”
this type and level of exaggeration falls into the “everybody knows” category..
my least favorite aspect of groupthink....”everybody knows”
I think he was lumping the celebration world wide as thousands - not just from NJ.
