Donald Trumpâs claim that he saw âthousands and thousands of peopleâ in New Jersey cheering the destruction of the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001, has been refuted by police, elected officials, religious leaders, fact-checkers and the media â and, now, the mayor of New York City on 9/11: Rudy Giuliani.
âWe did have some celebrating â that is true,â Giuliani said on CNNâs âNew Dayâ on Tuesday. âWe had some pockets of celebrating.â
How many pockets?
âTen. Twelve? Thirty. Forty,â Giuliani recalled. âWe had one situation in which a candy store owned by a Muslim family was celebrating that day, right near a housing development. And the kids in the housing development came in and beat them up.â

He refuted nothing.
I expect nothing more from Yahoo - just like the rest of the media it will lie, cheat and steal to promote democrats.
Trump say “thousands and thousands” or just say “thousands” and then repeat the whole thing. Or is this just journalistic lying license?

perhaps the candidate was simply overstating the matter.
dozens arent hundreds and hundreds arent thousands and thousand.
that seems the most likely deal here.
"...and we did have some celebrating, that is true. We had pockets of celebrations, some in Queens, some in Brooklyn, - 10, 12, 30, 40 ...we had one situation in which we had a candy store owned by a muslim family was celebrating that day, right near a housing development. Kids in the housing came in and beat them up. Both facts were corroborated as being true. They were celebrating that the towers had come down and some of the kids in the housing development got really upset about it and they came in and did a pretty good job of beating them up."
Guilani only had an issue with the total number. not with Trump saying there were celebrations.
Trump said thousands, and maybe it was not that high.
As for the mayor, he had more important matters on his mind from the morning of 9/11/01 onward.
The extreme gall.
Giuliani totally conformed that Muslims did celebrate.
Black is white. Up is down.
Rudy Giuliani verifies Trumps claim that Muslims were celebrating on 9/11.

Introduction
Between the Fall of 1998 and June 2001, a group of Middle Eastern men living in New Jersey is caught on tape in an ATF weapons sting conspiring to buy millions of dollars of weapons including components for nuclear bombs. Three years after the operation ended, all of the people involved in the deal are free.
. . .
will also examine the history of terror links to the North Jersey area from before the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center right up until 9-11. Michael Chertoff, by the way, was the U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey from 1990-1994 and was in office when the first attack on the World Trade Center took place. For reasons that escape me, the Jersey City area and particularly the Al Salam mosque from which the Blind Sheik Omar Abdel Rahman spewed his hatred, was allowed to continue to be one of the major hubs of terrorist activity in the United States .
Part 1: The Jersey City Rat Pack
. . .
This case pales in comparison, however, to a pre-9-11 weapon sting in which a 32 million dollar deal for a ship load of weapons, 500 Stinger Missiles, nuclear triggers, weapons grade plutonium and 'heavy water' for a nuclear dirty bomb were the weapons of choice of Middle Eastern men seeking to arm Osama Bin Laden and the Taliban. This case never made screaming headlines when it ended in June 2001 and most people have never head about it.
The attacks on 9-11 were three months away and the American press was not as eager to pounce on every story that even mentioned the word terrorist. In addition to the weapons deal, the World Trade Center was specifically mentioned as a future target by one of the characters in this drama and yet none of the people involved in this case are currently in prison. Why?
. . .
The Strange Story of Dr. Magdy Elamir
The August 2, 2002 edition of Dateline NBC, brought to light the story of another North Jersey character named Dr. Magdy Elamir.
"Last fall, 'Dateline' obtained information about Magdy Elamir. He's a prominent doctor, a neurologist with a practice in Jersey City. Born and educated in Egypt, he moved to this country about 20 years ago and since then has built a fortune. He lives in a mansion, is generous to local charities and is an active supporter of both political parties.
Should counterterrorism investigators take an interest in Dr. Elamir? Well, 'Dateline' obtained a document last fall - foreign intelligence report, that makes a startling allegation about the doctor - that he has had financial ties with Osama bin Laden for years. The report was given to a senior member of Congress, Ben Gilman, back in 1998, when he was Chairman of the House International Relations Committee.
'We have a former FBI person on our staff and I asked him to look it over,' says Congressman Gilman. 'He thought it was credible enough to turn it over to the intelligence people. And we turned it over to the FBI practically immediately.'
This was in 1998.
The report alleges that an H.M.O. owned by Dr. Elamir in New Jersey was 'funded by ben [sic] Laden' and that in turn Dr. Elamir was skimming money from the H.M.O. to fund 'terrorist activities.'
One more thing, just because they were not out in the street, doesn’t mean they were not celebrating.
I do not think anyone would call me a liar if I said millions of Americans celebrated Thanksgiving last Thursday. And, yes, I witnessed it. How many of those people did I actually see?
"In Jersey City, within hours of two jetliners' plowing into the World Trade Center, law enforcement authorities detained and questioned a number of people who were allegedly seen celebrating the attacks and holding tailgate-style parties on rooftops while they watched the devastation on the other side of the river."--Washington Post, September 18, 2001

I don’t know about Donald Trump’s claim that there were thousands and thousands of Muslims celebrating the 9/11 attack, perhaps he was exaggerating but I do know that here in Seattle the Muslim community was celebrating in the streets and our local news papers and TV showed them doing it. I doubt the Seattle Muslim community is any larger then in NJ.
People have told The Donald a million times - don’t exaggerate.
Fact was, The Donald WASN’T exaggerating, nor does he, most times when he makes an assertion of one thing or another.
Giuliani only discusses New York City. Trump was talking about New Jersey—Jersey City, Patterson and other spots. That has been proven correct as well.
Yep. And I do wish Guilani had avoided that pitfall. Just because Guilani did not see thousands of US Muslims celebrate, it does not mean that it did not happen.
But that doesn't leave Trump off the hook either. He needs to either back up that number, or just say that he was not speaking literally, and then move on.
Yahoo is WORSE than most of the MSM.
You think ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, the NY Times and Washington Post cover for Democrats? They ain’t got NOTHIN’ on Yahoo, Google and Facebook.
My millennial daughter who relies on her phone to feed her news knew absolutely NOTHING about the Planned Parenthood videos OR Hillary’s server problems until Dad the Talk Radio Fossil TOLD her about them.
This refutes NOTHING! First Rudy was mayor of NY and when he says ‘we’ he’s referring to NYers. The cheering Trump referred to was in NJ. Secondly, Rudy says ‘we’ did have muslims cheering!
