A good repast indeed - and a good time with family. I had a long conversation with one of my nephews who I had not known all that well. It turns out we have a lot in common.
We had round two this evening - now we are sated!

The oldest just turned ten in October. They’re all in PA...I’ll be driving up in a few weeks to spend the holidays with them and my folks (as I do every year :)

#9: Donovan: "Mellow Yellow"
This was the year that Donovan Leitch put aside his Bob Dylan imitation and found his own voice. It turns out that the title did not come from the rumor that one could get high smoking the inside of banana peels, a rumor started by Country Joe MacDonald, possibly with the help of the United Fruit Company.
The "electrical banana" was a reference to a lady's vibrator. Catch the English film "Hysteria" for a comic and true tale of how that particular device was invented.

It was a good year. I get a few snarky comments in here and there.

We did survive. It wasn’t extremely busy when I was there...early in the day.. It was cold and drizzly and probably kept some of the less dedicated shoppers home. There was a group of women friends who had tee shirts that said “Black Friday Shopping Team” that we all got a laugh from.
The men were there with the women this early. They haven’t panicked...yet. LOL!
Hope you and your mom had a nice quiet day. Did you all have family join you?

#69: Sandy Posey: "Single Girl"
This Alabama girl had a short career in country music, mostly with songs about how a woman needed a man more than a fish needed a bicycle. It's something of a period piece today.

Thanks, Mac, for the Missing Man Setting as we remember those who have given their all that we may gather safe and secure.

I'll do my newly written Christmas Eve and Christmas posts at the correct time. Got a lot of new material this year.
And I'm writing up New Years. I caught hell last year for doing the Top 25 of 2014, which looked like I had tapped into videos of satanic practices. This year I'm doing the songs that were #1 on January 1, 1959 thru 1988. That shouldn't offend people's sensibilities.
