Instead of voting to "encumber and bog down the refugee process," Republicans should go along with a Democrat demand to bar people on a secret government list from buying guns, White House spokesman Josh Earnest said on Monday.
Earnest said the Republican plan to beef up the vetting of refugees will not improve national security: "Again, if Congress were actually interested in doing that, they'd pass a law that would prevent somebody who's on the terror watch list from being able to buy a gun. That's what Congress should do.
"And as people are sitting around the Thanksgiving table, talking about these issues, as they should, and as I'm sure they will all across the country, I hope that's a question that will be raised, and asked by members around the table--that if we're going to have a serious discussion in this country about national security, let's talk about some pretty obvious things that Congress can do

They apparently wax nostalgic for those reruns of All in the Family where Meathead would invariably ruin Archie’s meal by injecting left-wing politics at the dinner table.
We had our Thanksgiving Sunday.
Oh and you can bet we talked aplenty about this president
This is what you get when you hire a marxist community organizer instead of a leader.
Can’t even the libs give politics a rest for one day?
We’ll be talking about guns thats for sure.
About my new 7mm and the buck I ‘almost’ got at 300yrds.
Oh yeah... lots of gun talk goes on at our table.
Yes, it’s true - they should. And gun conrtrol is hitting center mass when needed.
We talk about gun control all the time. We will be at the range tomorrow and probably hunting on Friday/Saturday if not back a the range. We will be practicing heavy gun control as a family.
Like bringing charges of treason against the president and starting impeachment proceedings? Those kind of things?
Yep.
Ask them which model they prefer for a Christmas gift and then plan a day for all to go to the range and work on their ‘gun control’.
Well, around our table we will be talking about our guns, how to eliminate the muslin menace, including so called Syrian refugee’s. But mostly we will be talking about our disgusting resident and other traitorous politicians.
In my home we will (note tagline).
Priming the pump for 2016.
Americans: The White House should mind its own business about what gets discussed at our dinner tables.
We're going to talk about those items its government no longer considers part of the economy when measuring and reporting inflation: gas, electricity, water, telephone, bacon, eggs, milk, meat, butter, hamburger, steak (what the hell is that?) etc.
We're going to talk about all the racism we collectively hold between us. How us two working all our damned lives, never living off the dole or taking assistance once, paying taxes until we bled, saving little and owing a lot qualifies us for benefiting from white privilege somehow.
We're gonna talk about how even our own Republican Party abandoned us long ago for second-tier power and appeasement because they get invited to more DC parties and Sunday shows that way. We're gonna talk about how Jeb Bush, Ben Carson, Marco Rubio and John Kasich all want us to welcome little Mexican children into our midst when we are struggling to give our grand daughters what they need.
We're gonna talk about a lot of shit, but is sure as hell won't be gun control unless its the kind of control where you talk about hitting what you're aiming at.
Obama - demanding that people be deprived of their rights without due process.
FUBO.
That was the talk I was thinkin’ too. Sighting in and such.
