Instead of voting to "encumber and bog down the refugee process," Republicans should go along with a Democrat demand to bar people on a secret government list from buying guns, White House spokesman Josh Earnest said on Monday.
Earnest said the Republican plan to beef up the vetting of refugees will not improve national security: "Again, if Congress were actually interested in doing that, they'd pass a law that would prevent somebody who's on the terror watch list from being able to buy a gun. That's what Congress should do.
"And as people are sitting around the Thanksgiving table, talking about these issues, as they should, and as I'm sure they will all across the country, I hope that's a question that will be raised, and asked by members around the table--that if we're going to have a serious discussion in this country about national security, let's talk about some pretty obvious things that Congress can do

Yeh Josh people are going to be sitting around the Thanksgiving table talking about guns but not in a good way pal.
We will be discussing how many guns we have and how much ammo. And try and figure out who needs what.
Yes we should .We should be talking about why the Pilgrims left Europe and established the first settlements in our country and why they felt the need to be armed .

This message comes to you on location from the state of Virginia. Our founders believed that the Word of God was the one and only foundation for a free people.
“Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their country.” Charles E. Weller 1867. I would like to issue the same challenge today. The time is now, not tomorrow, not next year, but now - that we trust God to be our protector and defender as we reject apathy and complacency. In fact the Bible teaches that we are to invade our culture for righteousness.
Put your faith into action and stand for what is right.

I. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America, in Congress assembled, That each and every free able-bodied white male citizen of the respective States, resident therein, who is or shall be of age of eighteen years, and under the age of forty-five years (except as is herein after excepted; lack of compulsion shall not be grounds for expulsion nor prohibition) shall severally and respectively be enrolled in the militia, by the Captain or Commanding Officer of the company, within whose bounds such citizen shall reside, and that within twelve months after the passing of this Act. And it shall at all time hereafter be the duty of every such Captain or Commanding Officer of a company, to enroll every such citizen as aforesaid, and also those who shall, from time to time, arrive at the age of 18 years, or being at the age of 18 years, and under the age of 45 years (except as before excepted) shall come to reside within his bounds; and shall without delay notify such citizen of the said enrollment, by the proper non-commissioned Officer of the company, by whom such notice may be proved. Yep we should, you want to send 100,000 male Syrians here next year....none Christian, you rile up blacks to kill whites....all American families and their relatives should learn to control their guns well. Thank you for the advice White House.
We talk about where the best deals on ammo are. When deer hunting season starts. The best handgun for concealed carry. The buck I got last year. Is this what they mean?
Oh, we will. . . bragging on marksmanship. . . sister’s husband couldn’t hit the 10-ring at 5 feet. . .
Every year the Obama White House has a stupid message like this
Here we go again. With terrorists on the rampage, and idiotic ‘victim’ groups protesting when anyone dares to look cross-eyed at them, our POTUS wants to talk about taking guns away from the law abiding good citizens.

Mine will be talking about impeachment.
This is my rifle. There are many like it, but this one is mine.
My rifle is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life.
My rifle, without me is useless. Without my rifle, I am useless. I must fire my rifle true. I must shoot straighter than my enemy who is trying to kill me. I must shoot him before he shoots me. I will ..
My rifle and myself know that what counts in this war is not the rounds we fire, the noise of our burst, nor the smoke we make. We know that it is the hits that count. We will hit . . .
My rifle is human, even as I, because it is my life. Thus, I will learn it as a brother. I will learn its weaknesses, its strength, its parts, its accessories, its sights, and its barrel. I will ever guard it against the ravages of weather and damage. I will keep my rifle clean and ready, even as I am clean and ready. We will become part of each other. We will ..
Before God I swear this creed. My rifle and myself are the defenders of my country. We are the masters of our enemy. We are the saviors of my life.
So be it, until victory is America's and there is no enemy, but Peace!
I think that to be fair and balanced, we need a national day of repentance. We can pray for forgiveness for grievous mistakes of 2008 and 2012. Maybe the day after the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November.
The GAO Congressional testimony and report is worth reading in its entirety. And as Democrats know, most of their supporters will not bother to take the time to learn the real facts.
The real facts as stated on page 7 of the following dry report are that the FBI does look at the terrorist watch list when an instant check firearms purchase is made. If someone is on the terrorist watch list data is turned over to a field agent to investigate. So even if the sale is made....the FBI is going to be breathing down the persons back, talking to him and learning what he is up to.
I’m sorry. I thought it was a “Firearms Safety Initiative”. LOL! Yeah, right.
Oh, we’ll talk about it. Not in the context that the White Hut would prefer, though. We already have our post-meal range time booked.
I prefer a two-point sling on my 'tactical' rifles, and a level-1 retention holster for my defensive handguns.
Keeps the guns firmly in my control ...
Would have Been a good time to suggest portion control, not gun control.
Today, Nov. 24 is the day Ruby shot Oswald. Maybe Nov. 24 would be a better day for a National day of Repentance.
