Ben Carson may want to brush up on his American history, especially when one of his favorite topics ... the Founding Fathers ...are concerned.
For the second time in weeks, he botched a reference to Thomas Jefferson.
During a C-SPAN interview that aired Sunday night, host Steve Scully pointed out that Carson talks a lot about the Founding Fathers and asked Carson if he has one in particular that he's most impressed with.
"I'm impressed by a lot of them, but particularly impressed with Thomas Jefferson, who seemed to have very deep insight into the way that people would react," Carson said. "And he tried to craft our Constitution in a way that it would control peopleâs natural tendencies and control the natural growth of the government."
There's only one problem. Jefferson didn't help draft the Constitution.
It’s just one of those typical questions the media keeps asking Democrats </s>
This put a smile on my face. It's a good thing when I find out that Thomas Jefferson agreed with me. Of course, he saw this BEFORE it happened... I've had the benefit of watching the system in action.
He was, one brilliant man.
——Yeah, Jefferson is identified mainly with the drafting of the Declaration of Independence but as a key Founding Father, it seems that he would also have shared some insights and provided input to the language and content of the U.S. Constitution as well.——
No way possible, Jefferson was playing five card monty the whole time the constitution was being written and fought over.../ Sarcasm
I’ve never heard that one before.
Excellent post.
Amen.
Jefferson may well be right. The political class has become disconnected from the people. They have become our rulers, not our representatives.
Thanks VinL.
Of all the presidential candidate of both parties Ted Cruz is the only one I'd bet on knowing the answer to the question.
I can't think of a cabinet post I'd trust him with now.
Save your bashing for HITLER-Y!
We're currently in the 7th year of an 8 year dearth of leadership from a fool who is the laughing stock of all 57 U.S. states.
What's to know?
Save your bashing for HITLER-Y!

If the comment is intended for me, I’ve never bashed Ben Carson.
Dear SunTimes,
Is that the best you can do?
Signed,
Citizens of the 57 states of America
You’d be one of the few on FR who hasn’t bashed Dr. Carson.
So many did bash him in replies; I just posted reply to the
article. - This man is SO head & shoulders above most of us
it isn’t even funny. Any who state they wouldn’t “allow” him
to do brain surgery on them, I call BS. - They need to save
their ire for Hitler-y!
