Congressional Democrats are trying to build support for an effort to bar gun purchases by terror suspects, hoping to take advantage of the same public anxieties about security that gave Republicans a ringing House victory.
The Democratic push seems likely to fall victim to opposition from the National Rifle Association and congressional gun-rights backers, chiefly Republicans, who have smothered firearms curbs for years. If the Republicans who control Congress block votes on the proposal, Democrats hope to profit politically by winning sympathy from angry voters. ...

I read that there are 700,000 people on that list. What are the critria for getting on that list? Who determines who is added?
I don’t trust this administration to not add every conservative Christian that reveres the Constitution.
Why do we allow anyone on the terror lists to walk around free?
The Dimocrap definition of terrorist: NRA members and all those who exercise their Second Amendment rights. Their presidential frontrunner believes that Muslims have nothing to do with terrorism. Where is sanity?
Well, unless they are bona fide American citizens (which most imported terrorists — forgive me, widows and children who grow up to be terrorists — are not), they are not protected by the 2nd Amendment ... so there is no need for “special regulation” to prevent them owning guns. (Though as you point out, administrative remedies to gun violence never work but they do make the Left “feel” better because they’ve “done something”.)
If you don’t want terrorists buying American guns in America, then don’t import terrorists to America.
But the reason that they are importing terrorists to America is so that they can manufacture fear and chaos in the native population, which they will then use to strip civil liberties from said native population.
And they do not care at all if people die as a result of their lunatic schemes designed to help them implement their lunatic agenda.
Offer amendments that suspected terrorists can’t get welfare and can’t vote? Lets see how the Democrats react to that - their Somali constituency in particular probably won’t be too happy.
This is right up Obama’s alley. There is no way to find out if you are on the watch list unless you are tagged trying to get on an airplane. No judicial action is required to place you on the list. Criteria for nomination to the list is unknown to the public. Ther is no known judicial method for getting off the list or contesting a nominationh. Right, put all Consevative Christians on the list and come for their guns. Likely will be somw Bible thumping.
You consider AMERICANS to be terrorists, and THAT is who you would ban.
EAT SSSS AND FFFFING DIE!!!!
Hear that, Republicans? If don’t support this, you’re siding with the terrorists!
You need to think like a weasel.
And grow the size and bite of centralized power of government, diminish state's rights, and turn the judicial branch into a feckless joke to be ignored.
These are some evil scheming bastards, and they gotta go.
Watch the movie “Clean Skin”. It’s a British film. Spot on.
I’m sure there are plenty of Fast & Furious guns out there for them to pick up as they cross the southern border.
So there we go, you have the Obozo agenda on full display. He hopes to pass anti-gun legislation by importing an invading army.
How “unprecedented” is that?
F your own face is my preferred response to freedom hating demonrat crap eaters. I am pretty much fed up with those reprobates.
Why the rush? I bet they brought their own.
The point is that the devil is in the details. Right now if someone on the terrorist watch list buys or attempts to buy a firearm the FBI is watching and checking. If the FBI for its own reasons approves the transaction, an FBI field agent is contacted and data provided to him for investigation.
Considering that the terrorist watch list is already part of the FBI instant background screening process. I see very little that this proposed law will do.
The source of the push is a noted anti gun group with whom the Democrats has aligned in the past, but is not necessarily a Democratic Party issue. It may become one, but seems a little premature to label as such.
