Will Trump's Proposed Muslim Database be as detailed as the database on the rest of us?
American Thinker ^ | 11/20/2015 | Ed Straker

Liberals claim that Donald Trump is considering creating a database to keep track of Muslim Americans. Not exactly true.

Donald Trump "would certainly implement" a database system tracking Muslims in the United States, the Republican front-runner told NBC News on Thursday night.

"I would certainly implement that. Absolutely," Trump said in Newton, Iowa, in between campaign town halls.

But that's not exactly what transpired. Breitbart has it more accurately.

NBC News’ Vaughn Hillyard confronts Trump: “Should there be a database system that tracks the Muslims here in this country?” Trump replies: “There should be a lot of systems, beyond databases. We should have a lot of systems. And today you can do it. But right now, we have to have a border, we have to have strength, we have to have a wall, and we cannot let what’s happening to this country happen any longer.” Hillyard asks: “But that’s something your White House would like to implement?” Trump: “Oh I would certainly implement that. Absolutely.”

Trump seems to be talking about a database to track potential terrorists, not all American Muslims.

But liberals are labelling it as the latter rather than the former and are predictably outraged about this.
But where is their outrage when under Obamacare the government keeps track of all our medical records? Why should the government have access to our private medical records? There is a great potential for abuse, even blackmail there.

Where is the outrage that the government keeps photocopies of all envelopes sent through the post office? What right does the government have to collect such information on the entire population?

I feel like I always have to qualify by saying I’m a Cruz supporter who is glad Trump is in the race. With that out of the way, when I read that transcript, am I the only one who thinks Trump was talking about the wall when asked if he would implement it right away?

There are so many data bases, it's pathetic.

What's not in those data bases are illegals.

And everyone who signed up for Obamacare. The government has all your bank account numbers. And if you don't think they can rob you, you're kidding yourself. For example, refuse to bake a cake for a couple homos.

I’d hazard to guess the NSA and whatever black agency database on American Citizens is ultimately more complete than ANY database on Muslims and/or suspected Muslim terrorists in general.

I don’t for a minute believe our government has OUR interests at heart at all.

Your Social Security number and your filed Income Tax forms pretty much have it all. (As do the Russians and the Chinese)

You can tell he’s still pondering how to track Muslims BETTER...and he’s right. We track them now.

I have found I can’t believe anything written about Trump. If I don’t go to an original source that includes a video of him actually saying whatever the media claims he said, I consider it untrue, unreliable, misconstrued or misquoted.

Certainly not Obama's administration....he is doing exactly what he said he would do and that is to fundamentally change America. Muslims/Islam are his choice to change our Christian-Judaeo face and our future.

Understood. But you do realize that thinking about any other government besides one completely controlled by this maniac is out of the question until he’s been shown the door to the WH January 20, 2017?

Until that DAY, and with the proviso of an American, non-Democrat President replaces him, the best course is to assume that it is your enemy (because it has been acting as such from day one of his tenure).

Trump’s religion database is crazy. To make it work, it would have to include everyone’s religion. Do you want the next evil, liberal president to have a database of all Christians?

The article is based on a lie propagated by the media.

The article itself is a LIE.

Which part is the lie?

Trump never said he would have a database of muslims. He was asked a loaded question by a reporter, to which he did not respond. The reporter than breathlessly proclaimed that “he didn’t rule it out”.

thus, the lie that Trump said he would specifically track muslims is born.

I heard that he’s going to ask Hillary if he can host the database on her email server....

Trump proposed no such thing. The premise of the story is based on a lie.

He did not say what is being widely reported.

Cruz is my first pick but this is unfair.
