Putting U.S. troops on the ground in Syria to counter the Islamic State and take on Syrian President Bashar Assad's regime would be a mistake, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) said Wednesday.
"I don't believe the answer is sending boots on the ground to Syria," the Republican candidate for president told reporters in Washington. "President Obama , and I think far too many Republicans , are eager to get us in the middle of an internecine civil war in Syria. We don't have a dog in that fight."
Assad is a "monster" who has murdered women and children and gassed his own citizens, Cruz said, but handing the country over to warring extremist factions would be worse.
"The enemy of my enemy is not necessarily my friend," he said. "And toppling Assad, if it results in radical Islamic terrorists taking over Syria, if it results in Al Qaeda or Al Nusra or ISIS taking over all of Syria, that would be a catastrophic mistake."
Some Republican candidates, including Ohio Gov. John Kasich and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, have said they would support putting U.S. boots on the ground in Syria.
And yet we can’t just sit by.
Bomb, arm the Kurds. What else?
I guess we could just stand back and let them keep killing each other. There's always that option.
Don’t let Syrian refugees into the U.S. We have not truly been bombing, We step up our attacks to at least the level that the Russians are doing. Obama has been playing patty cake with his Muslim brothers, but Putin means business.
There are no good guys in Syria. Let the rest of the world figure that mess out.
“I guess we could just stand back and let them keep killing each other. There’s always that option.”
And let France drop a friendly note every now and then.
“...President Obama , and I think far too many Republicans , are eager to get us in the middle of an internecine civil war in Syria. We don’t have a dog in that fight.”
He said that???? Something is fishy here.
What is the inevitable National Security threat against the United States from Assad in Syria?
Furthermore, I would not even call it a “Civil War”. That is the FILTHY LIE from the Establishment/Globalist. It’s Saudi Arabia trying to get access to a Natural Gas pipeline to compete with Russia’s monopoly over Europe when it comes to Natural Gas. Saudi Arabia wants to use U.S. Troops to die for their gas pipeline.
This is an invasion by Saudi Arabia’s Proxy Army Al-Qaeda. You know the very army that attacked us on September 11th, 2001 and killed many of our troops in Afghanistan and Iraq.
Besides risking a war with Russia that has and is building a military base. The war could go nuclear.
Just beyond a stupid move. We are broke too. It will further bankrupt us a Republic and kill off some of our best Americans.
Stay the h@ll out!
Warning From Ted Cruz: Far Too Many Republicans Are Eager To Drag U.S. Into Syria's Civil War
Yeah, no kidding.
“The enemy of my enemy is not necessarily my friend,” he said.

Damn Straight!
When it comes to muzzies - the enemy of my enemy is still my enemy.
Trump Doctrine: Let Russia bomb the shit out of them.
Take the oil, leave the cannoli.
Cruz said that? Who’s he talking to?
LOL!
Good idea,he is right,The Russians,Iranians all want Assad in power, our guys would be fighting them as well as trying to figure out if you kill Isis people because they are also trying to get rid of Assad as well as us,that is a quagmire we don’t to send our troops into,Putin is doing fine killing Isis
The feeble minded old warhorse should be retired to pasture. He could be hired out for stud service, but Dole sold all the Viagra.
Then admit to the 'unicorn', it`s easy, repeat after me: 'There is no such thing as a moderate muslim.'
"Death to America!"
