A Denver-area store called Isis Books & Gifts wants the world to know its name comes from the Egyptian goddess of healing and motherhood, and it isn't a retail store run by terrorists.

Well, with such dummies running around, I hope JoAnna Cameron stays safe.
That’s so stupid. My second apartment in NYC was next door to a restaurant called Isis.
Ignorance on both sides. Sure, the name Isis is an Egyptian goddess of Magic and Life but then on the other side ignorance of who Isis is. The bookstore people should have chose a different name considering ....
It was probably called Isis before 0bama created ISIS.
Most unfortunate for this business
This reminds me of a potato chip manufacturer in Chicago before WWII called Japs potato chips. Well, after Pearl Harbor, that name was not the best to have so owners renamed their company Jays Potato Chips and name has been used ever since.
Awkward. Maybe they could change the name to Aset Books and Gifts for now.
I remember that show when I was ... six or seven? I wanted her hair and costume so much.
I believe there was an Android mobile wallet app that was called Isis. The name was changed to Softcard.
Years ago I named my beautiful black female cat after Isis, the Egyptian goddess.
It fit her perfectly (see her on my profile page)
Now, I’m ashamed to tell people what her name is..stupid 7th century savages!!
Oh, wait...
Morons will be morons.
be cheaper to change the name...
Worship of the godess Isis and worship of Allah are both examples of Satanic worship.
Jack's self-esteem was smashed.
Never again would he feel safe.
Many years ago, my family lived in Santa Barbara, California.
My dad knew one of the founders of the Sambo’s chain, Sam Battistone Sr.
The Sambo name was derived from the first name of Sam Battistone and the first two letters of the other founder’s name, Newell Bohnett.
Stupid New Age liberals, the joke is really on them because the “goddess” Isis is one of “Allah” (Satan’s) agents..
My sister is a fan of “Downton Abbey.”
On the show, Lord Grantham has a dog named “Isis,” or should I say had.
My sister once said, “You watch, something is going to happen to that dog because of it’s name.”
Sure enough, on one episode the dog took ill and died.
I guess the producers didn’t want to have a cast member named Isis, even if it was a dog.
